I see Alzbeta Basova is participating in WD (with Lucie Havlova) and in XD (with Jakub Bitman, seeded, Czech XD champions). I'm gonna be rooting for her
. Watch out for Pablo Abian. I think he would do well here (after his impressive performances at last week's Swiss Open GP Gold tournament. .
Minatsu Mitani will be at the 2011 Polish Open (24-27 March) . For the Womens Singles, I shall be rooting for Minatsu Mitani. .
My picks for this week: MS: Semi Final will be between: Flemming Quach/Kevin Cordon vs Anand Pawar Koichi Saeki vs Pablo Albian Flemming vs Kevin will be a tough match, I wouldn't underestimate Kevin, he is by far the best player in the Americas region. But Flemming is up and coming, and will want to cause an upset. (Flemming did well against Anand in November)
I don't think this Kevin Cordon Buezo is the Kevin Cordon. When I click on his name it takes me to the profile of some Indonesian player, so I don't know who this guy actually is.
Nah, tournament software goes crazy some times, putting in the wrong links. Kevin Cordon and Kevin Cordon Buezo are the same person (the same person that almost beat HKV last week)
Nice going TS then. He has one name in the Swiss Open and then a different name in this Polish IC and the link to his profile is wrong.
Ha ha, not sometimes. It's all the time. They just keep on adding to the already multiple identities of the same person. It's such a waste of time clicking on all of them when searching for a player's tournament history.
Yeah, just go to the rankings page, then you can see all the tournaments he has won. there are quite a few big wins in his H2H but also some suprise defeats. A good player, with a very good chance here, I an not sure why he is in the EU though, usually he stays in the Americas or Asia, he must have found funding somewhere
Impressive run of wins by the Japanese WS, especially that of Yuka Kusunose, beating Sayali Gokhale of India 9-21 21-18 21-15. And also Yui Hashimoto, who eliminated Michelle Li of Canada 10-21 21-10 21-17. 1220 WS Yoshimi Hataya[JPN] -[ESP] Carolina Marin [8] 21-18 24-22 1220 WS Emi Moue[JPN] -[UKR] Elena Prus 21-13 21-12 1235 WS Yuka Kusunose[JPN] -[IND] Sayali Gokhale 9-21 21-18 21-15 1235 WS Yui Hashimoto[JPN] -[CAN] Michelle Li [4] 10-21 21-10 21-17 1300 WS Kana Ito[JPN] -[RUS] Olga Golovanova 21-15 11-21 21-15
And another win for JPN; 1:55 PM WS Minatsu Mitani defeated Karoliine Hoim 21-13, 21-18 in 28 minutes.
Alzbeta Basova/Lucie Havlova (CZE) def. Weronika Grudzina/Justyna Pasternak (POL) 21-11, 24-22 Well, this is going well
Seriously, who is in charge of the court allocation for Court 3?!? Ah it's betting time again no wonder all the shite matches are on C3 ... Only match #18 might become a good one
