head-to-head 4-1 in favor of Hafiz but all the wins by Hafiz are pre-2009. the most recent encounter between the two was in April in Australia GPG where Sho beat Hafiz 21-17 / 21-11

Sho has the upper hand i think.

Although lost, HH's score against SS was not bad.

    looks very close.

in fact, HH overall got more total point than ShoS. but failed to convert on the 2nd game. too bad tournamentsoftware didn't record the point progression for us to appreciate really how close the 2nd actually was.

A commendable fight from Hafiz against Sasaki Sho today after his dismal performances in losing to Liew Daren and Arif.

looks like LD gave Hafiz some quality sparring as well as physical conditioning during the China Masters.

I saw the first two games, thanks to some kind soul whose link I've forgotten.
Hafiz is almost maddening to watch. In game one he was down something like 7-1 and he came back to win. In the second game he was up like 18-13 and lost.

He looks so languorous. Yet he has a great reach, creative shot choices and incredible wrist power.
Still a dangerous opponent after all these years ... when he can keep his focus.

HH's game is a delight to watch. He must be commited to his physical conditioning, That's translate into doing more push ups, sit ups, bench press, sprinting as well as distance running. He should also choose his tournaments and have confidence in himself. Slowly but surely he may recover. TO think of him as a challenger for top honors in the next few months would be a stretch of imagination, but as a dark horse in the OF stage or 2nd singles at Thomas cup, he could fight against Sasaki, Nguyen Simon and those at the bottom half of the top 10 and an upset or two against the top 5. he should not be under estimated provided he follows my advise.
