Maybe it's just me but could you describe where these wrinkles appear and what they look like? Pictures would be the best option if available to see what they look like so we can offer our opinion =).

usually the wrinkles are at the handle's butt end

you just have to get the right tension when you stretch and wrap... too tight or too loose will cause wrinkles

Definitely... After you wrap a hundred or so handles that is, it's just practice. Unfortunately, once mastered, everyone you know will be asking you to do it for them (get's annoying sometimes).

You have to grip the handles as hard as possible and keep it stick to the handle with no extra place.

I had this problem too, I find that when you start your wrap, if you don't go "up" so aggresively on your first few arounds, you don't get the wrinkle. If you try to "lift off" too quickly, then your fold it, and no matter how much you try to pull it tight, it will fold. Just a smooth, gently "lift off", if that makes sense.

if i grip my racket with the plastic wrap on the handle, does the grip come off more easily? since it has slightly less friction

That I couldn't tell you, I put my overgrip directly over the original grip, and take off the plastic wrap that new racquets come with.. You can always try, and if it comes off and you don't like it, just redo it without the plastic.

Yes it does. I always leave my plastic wrap on as it protects the original grip for if I ever want to sell it.

Not sure what you mean by hassle, I've never had a grip unravel on its own if that's what your original question was. I thought you were asking about ease of removal when you want to replace it. As long as you have decent tension on the grip as you install it, it should not slip during use.

Agree, I don't know if it's with all grips, but the backs have this texture that sorta melds with the original grip, it's like when you wear shorts on a hot day, and you sit on a leather sofa. It's not glue, but it sorta sticks... like that.

ohhhhh i meant, does it slip off more easily during matches lol
cuz it happened 2-3 times on my racket that i didnt take off the plastic wrap.
on the one that i DID take off, that never happened. it might be from the installation lol.
i also think its the area of overlap. if i dont overlap it enough, itll "slide" off since i sometimes push forward with my thumb on the grip as i hit

The brand will also affect how you can wrap your grip with or without wrinkles as they all react a little different from each other.
