    I don't think it really matters who'll pair HJE, although I think KSH has a slight edge over LYD. HJE is in mixed doubles not consistent enough, so there won't be any prizes to win I'm afraid. Btw I hope KSH will be playing mixed, LYD just has to focus on MD and KSH is more exciting to watch in XD

    Keep in mind, though, that there are really only about 5400 point difference between the two pairs, when you're thinking of Olympic qualification. All but their Sudirman points (5932 vs. 491). Most of the points on which the rankings are based are from before May. With the notional ranking, however, Lee and Ha still don't have to play qualifying in Singapore or Indonesia.

    Yes, I see what you mean.

    Anyway, this week at the 2011 Thailand Open GP Gold, Lee Yong Dae is partnering Ha Jung Eun as the No.7 seed.

    And they are doing well so far; having already arrived at the Quarter-Finals (after 2 rounds);

    Round 1:
    Lee Yong Dae/Ha Jung Eun defeated Leung Chun Yiu/Ng Ka Shun (HKG) 21-09, 21-15 in 25 mins

    Round 2:
    Lee Yong Dae/Ha Jung Eun defeated Qiu Zihan/Bao Yixin (CHN) 21-19, 21-19 in 36 mins

    Frankly, I'm not impressed with Ha. Her service just looks too ... nervous. She indeed has a great defense, but she often lifts the shuttle. She needs to be more dominant in the net.

    I know a lot of people here bashes Lee Hyo Jung, but she's not a gold and silver medalist in the Beijing Olympics for nothing. Her defenses may not be as strong as the others, but her net shots are very decieving. And she can even be at par when she's left at the rear court.

    Lee and Ha are doing good. But I hope it's good enough in the London Olympics.

    Yes, I hope too that Ha Jung Eun will be more dominant in the net too. But coach Sung Han-kuk said "We’ve concluded that Lee Yong-dae and Ha Jung-eun will be the optimal mixed doubles team (for 2012 London Olympic Games)".

    Lee Yong-dae, South Korea’s reigning Olympic champion in mixed doubles badminton, will get a new partner in his title defense at the 2012 London Games, his coach said Tuesday.

    “We’ve concluded that Lee Yong-dae and Ha Jung-eun will be the optimal mixed doubles team,” coach Sung Han-kuk said. “We made the call after three European tournaments this month.”

    Lee, 22, won the Beijing Olympics gold medal with Lee Hyo-jung, a 30-year-old who announced her retirement from the national team after winning mixed doubles gold at the Guangzhou Asian Games last fall. She played with Shin Baek-cheol at the time.

    With Lee Hyo-jung out of the picture, Sung and his coaches mulled over the best combination for Lee Yong-dae over the German Open, All-England Open and Swiss Open championships.

    In Germany, Lee played with Kim Ha-na and lost in the quarterfinals. After skipping the mixed doubles in England, Lee teamed up with Ha in Switzerland and reached the semifinals, where they lost to a tough duo in three sets.

    “(Lee and Ha) pushed the strong Danish team (of Joachim Fischer Nielsen and Christina Pedersen) in the semis to three sets,” Sung said. “After taking into account these recent results, we felt (Lee and Ha) played well as a team.”

    Ha, 23, had previously played with Lee at the 2005 Korea Open as a high school freshman. In Beijing, Lee Yong-dae provided stability while Lee Hyo-jung, slightly taller than her male partner at 181 centimeters, attacked the net with abandon. Coach Sung said Ha, listed at 173 centimeters, may not be as adept near the net as Lee Hyo-jung but has potential for improvement.

    Lee Yong-dae is the steady player and Ha will get better around the net,” the coach said. “He’s found a good match.

    Lee Yong Dae/Ha Jung Eun and Tantowi Ahmad/Liliyana Natsir [2] (INA) meet again. This time in Round 1 at the 2011 Denmark Open SSP. As I type, the match is in progress;

    Game 1
    LYD/HJE-TA/LN: 21-15

    Game 2
    LYD/HJE-TA/LN: 11-10 (Interval at the 23rd minute)

    Depends. If they can at last harmonize on court and if LYD can put the pressure on, they have a chance of beating them. For me, there's no doubt that LYD is much more talented than Xu Chen, but I guess he's still held back a bit by his elbow problems - and the fact that he didn't play Mixed as much for the last years doesn't help. Ha Jung Eun will have to be in good shape though, Ma Jin is absolutely lethal at the net.
