I use BG80 @24 lbs on an Arc 5, in the new yonex catalogue it says that BG66UM is much better than BG80. Is this really the case and if so should i switch? I always use feather shuttles if that helps.
I've started to use 66UM exclusively but only you can decide. Just try it and if you don't like it go back...
I agree with druss. Its a matter of personal preference. Be sure to try it on a racquet that you have had for a while and are accustomed to with the bg80 so that you can formulate a fair comparison. If you want my opinion though, I was exclusively a BG80 user myself, but since I have tried 66UM I must say that my days of using BG80 are most certainly over. In my experience though, you will need to br careful though as 66UM is thinner than 80, therefore less forgiving in terms of its durability. I used to have BG80 strung at 25 to 26 lbs. but found my durability comfort level at 24 lbs. for the 66UM. Just my two cents.
Any recommendation for someone who has use BG66 for the past 19years? Level or play would be intermediate and uses N90II and TC700 as his main weapons.
Yes.. just switch. The running cost is less than BG66 by lasting longer while being more repulsive (in a good way).
Uh, there's a question right down weeyeh's alley, I'm sure weeyeh will gladly answer that for you! Ahem TC700 (weeyeh, I bet you don't have Gen 1!).
Hmm...after stringing a friend's AT900P with BG 80, I have a feeling that I've made a mistake in buying a reel of BG 66UM. I hope I'm wrong on this as my personal preference is BG 80 > NBG 98 > BG 66.
I would recommend it with you like smashing alot Today I got my racket back strung at 24lbs with BG66UM I felt my smash were slightly faster then normal. But actually it isn't my decision, it is yours.
Just tested the BG66UM and I can only say I'm a convert. Now my string ranking would be BG66UM, BG66M then BG66.
I switched to BG66UM last week after years of using BG66. This string come with stereo pop-pop sound effect that is better than BG66 which also make me enjoy more smashing.
Hi Many threads on BC mention the differences there are in characteristics between strings of different colours. Anybody have any experience of comparing BG66UM white with optic yellow. See link below http://www.stringersworld.co.uk/section/1404/1/bg_66_ultimax Thanks
This has been discussed before. If you look up Dink's string review thread you'll see a big discussion. As color dyes are made of different materials they would have different end characteristics, whether there is a noticeable difference? Well, some maybe could tell the difference.
