ended up buying a lesser known brand called Joobong TP505 BG80 @25lbs

    http://joobong.com/eng/product/prod..._pack=0&s_field=&s_string=&L_ID=1&M_ID=&S_ID=

The VT80 was under $1300HK while the 505 was under $800.

All I can say is, why have I never seen anyone playing with these racquets !!!

Apart from my smash timing (completely off due to the length) all the other shots were crisp and have plenty of power.

I will probably buy a vt80 later so can compare the two but for now JB it is.

Joobong is pretty much good brand too. Although they don't advertise their products nor sponsoring national players, but quality & technologies are somewhat comparable to RSL, Wilson, Kason & LiNing. The only differences are the low prices because they dont spend much on marketing & ads. Lucky you got TP505. I was gonna buy TP505 a year ago but couldn't find anyone sell it. Give it a try on court. Or you can exchange direct blow (clash head-to-head) with Yonex racket and see which is the winner.

Actually, arfandy I chose the JB partly because of so many of my friends top end Yonex racquets have broken after clashes and they are drifting away to other brands such as Li Ning

Yes Bogen VT80 looks amazing! as does the Slash-Z so maybe I just spray paint it bright yellow with red flames.

I'm pretty sure it's only the standard 675mm length.
The website says 685mm, but that has to be a mistake - all their other rackets are 675mm, and otherwise it would be illegal for use in competition (BWF rules state maximum length of 680mm).
