the first round of comparing the Victor MX80 and Yonex VT80 will be purely a cosmetic comparison. as we know, these two racket both arrived in the market in early 2011 and they suspicously look very much alike. a dominant white color scheme with black as secondary color and red/gold accent. we know that if we ask the two manufacturers, of course they will say their is original. but the chances of an coincidence? i think pretty low. we will never know what exactly happen to have them release two rackets with such close resemblance at almost the same time. the MX80 went on sale in February and VT80 went on sale in mid-March. many thanks to synergybadminton.com who supplied us with a VT80 for comparison.
not only cosmetics are quite similiar, the model number (80) is the same lol...what's hapeening behind the cutton btw yonex n victor??
Sublime photo's dude. Kind of wish they were higher res though. Many of them look like catalogue shots. Anyway, few questions before the eventual hardcore comparison. Does the MX80 still have internal grommets that in-dent themselves in to the frame a touch? Are the placers still lower profile than Yonnex's? Also, which of the rackets would you say had a slimmer design (head and shaft), the MX or VT? Lovely to see the subtlety of the MX80's octo frame. Wonder if it's more aerodynamic than classic Yonnex rounder framing. Give them both a good few swings and tell us if the sound or speed is different! If it's more aerodynamic you should feel less air resistance and perhaps a higher pitched swoosh.
Looks like both my VT80 and MX80 are at the post office waiting for pick up (along with a bunch of rkep grip, 1112N bag and 2 spools of 66UM string)... it's like Christmas...
I can't possibly hope to out do Kwuns photography but here are a few pics of what I just picked up at the post office. I will post more pictures of the bag in the 1112R thread (even though it's the 1112N)
Yep, that's the 1112n, 9 racket bag w/ detachable 3 racket bag. I put more pictures of it in the 1112R thread here: http://www.badmintoncentral.com/forums/showthread.php/95917-Yonex-Bag-1112R There are 2 MX80 (one 3U one 4U) an Arc 8DX (3U) and 2 VT80 (one 3U, one 4U) in the pictures they are left to right. As a shout out to Eric of squashmart, as I string my own rackets he gave me 2 free string (one for each racket) in lieu of the stringing labor and also a free victor hat for spending so much (might spend some more very soon...). As a note, I would like to point out that my credit card seems to be bleeding now.... :crying:
haha get a td rewards card =P the more i use, the more of a rebate i get back xD after spending a lot on books, at the end of the year its like getting a free racket or two in return also, out of curiosity, what racket do you use as your main right now?
I actually have 2 TD rewards cards... A travel rewards and a rebate one. Since I use my travel rewards one for work I usually get a free trip to Hawaii every other year for my whole family. I use my rebate one (much lower limit) to buy online... that's the one that's in shock right now.
are gonna use all of that ? maybe you should add AS8DX 4U while you're at it hahaha LOL or maybe you own a store ? (that is to re-sell them)
haha hope you enjoy your loot, let me know when you get bored of any of those rackets i have yet to try the vt80 or the mx80.
