I was wondering which string would fit me best. I'm a agressive player with powerful smashes. Mostly play doubles.

I've used both and prefer BG66UM over bg80's, it's got way better feel and repulsion IMO. Durability hasn't been a problem at all for me so far and it's strung at about 26lb. If you prefer a hard feeling string bg80 is the one to go for, if you want medium feeling string, then bg66um is a better choice.

Thanks for your advice I think I'll go with the BG66UM.

Np, hands down it's the best string when it comes to durability, repulsion and feel imo. But for pure performance (repulsion and feel) the ZM62 is even better but durability is pretty bad and I even had it strung at 23lbs but it broke in about 2-3 sessions for me (~2-4hrs) during clearing practice.

Yea, ZM62 (0.62mm) is only good if you can buy in bulk and string it yourself otherwise bg66um is the way to go(lasts much longer)

I bought a reel of BG-66UM, so once it arrives I'll let you know. I'm really looking forward to it though.

I've been using BG-80 for a year because I couldn't get hold of a reel of BG-66. Now I've come across the BG-66UM so I'm definitely jumping ship. BG-80 was a little too rough textured for me.

The 66UM is my go to string now and I currently have 2-1/2 reels of it. I also have a reel of ZM62 but what I do is use 66UM on the mains and ZM62 on the crosses, this is because it's typically the center mains that break for me. I had ZM62 strung at 27 once and it broke during the warm up...

i'm always string at 22lbs, BG66ULTIMAX last me about 3 weeks, on the other hand, BG80 last me almost 2 months.

(5 days a week, 2-3 hours per day)

    but i would prefer BG66ULTIMAX ;-)

It will definitely break faster. The only string thinner than BG-80 that I've used which can last as long as BG-80 is NBG-98 because of the carbon nanofiber coating. This might be different for lower tensions.

Since I always go with 22 lbs, so i think it not much different between BG66UM & BG80 in the term of repulsion power. But BG66UM have softer feeling than BG80 IMO. :p

bg66um will break fairly fast compared to bg80 but it will always depend on your skill and the tension you're stringing it at. zm62s are now my favorite though :D it took me about 3 months to get used to them. I used to break them weekly but now they are holding.

I tried out the BG66UM last night. I have to admit i was a bit dissapointed as i found less repulsion in them when compared to the NBG98. However, the tension is a bit too high for my liking so i will give it a couple more weeks for the tension to settle before judging. I better find a way to love this stuff because i ordered a reel! haha.
