Welcome to day 1 of this upgraded tourney from last year GP

Many interesting matches tomorrow, mostly come from WS because of some players returning from their post injuries.

    Here some of them :

    Maria Kristin v Gu Juan
    Fransiska R v Porntip
    Wang Lin v Yippie
Zhu Lin v Tai Tzu Ying
    Firda v Ai Goto

    Maybe this one too :

Kazuteru Kozai v yoyo HH :p

So, Sony withdrew from this tourney. According to TH's twitter, SDK has just got his baby girl, that's probably why.

Well, that could've cost him precious points...Looks like he needs longer time to make his ranking up again..
The bright side, he got to be called daddy now....congrats :)

Tommy is through 2nd round after defeating Aditya Elango convincingly, 21-12 21-5. So far, Tommy has proved his consistency, he rarely lost to relatively unknown/unexpected player. Next, he should try to defeat top 10 player, but his current stability is quite good, IMO.

MKY is on court now. Can she make it? Gu Juan is in her fine form. While MKY is struggling to revive.

Real test for Tommy should be tomorrow R/16 when he most likely will take on Japan #2 Kazushi Yamada.

Maria lost yet again. This time, from Gu Juan at straight set 16-21 15-21.
Despite of struggling of recovery, I think MKY style of depending on her only weapon: sharp cross court drop, is not competitive enough. Combined with her lazy style as well :). Agile and fighter kind of WS will be able to anticipate that shot :)
