I am using a drop weight machine to restring my AT900P and I have a few questions to ask. First, if I want an overall tension of 25lbs, should my mains be 25 and my cross be 27 or 28 to retain shape? Second, I was reading the special instructions for restringing the AT900: Start from top centre, keep on stringing until B9 ( skip A8 & A10 ). Go through B12, directly to A15 , and then straight to A13, down to B10 and tie off at B8. ( Opposite side : the same procedure ) My question is, do I start on the right side first and then do the left side? Or should I do one right and one left? Thanks
you should do 24x26. You should start from middle then one left and one right .... Check yonex.usa for stringing instruction.
Do you have fixed clamps? If not you may have to pull the last 2 mains in one pull since there is no string close enough to clamp to for the second last string (very outside). Make sure you add a couple of pounds of tension to the last pull to make up for pulling 2 strings and loss of tension from the knot.
Oh good point! Since I have to skip B11.... I almost missed that.... This is going to be interesting....
I just tried to to string my racquet using the Proportional Stringing method and the racquet turns out a little deformed... turned more circular.... Are these isometric racquets suppose to use constant tension?
No. Make sure the clamps are tight before you start stringing. even with the drop weight, the racket is not supposed to come out circular in shape after stringing.
Ahh.... I did see a lot of shifting in the racquet... Should I cut up the strings to avoid deformation?
