Common guys, give Paul a break. All reviews are personal experience and it's very good to share this. Didn't Paul make that clear in evey review as everyone of us?

Back to the question. They are both very good rackets. I'm lucky to have both of them. In terms of speed, the VT80 will have a faster swing speed since the frame is aerodynamic. It feels fast towards the shuttle, but the impact is a little softer compared to the N90 II. Ths N90 II feels very solid and hard. You notice that this is a much stiffer racket compared to the VT80. They are both not very good defensive rackets. I think the N90 II give's you more 'feel' of power compared to the VT80. but if you have played them both, you'll also know that they are different in the approach towards power. One is designed to generate power, and one is designed for powerful players. See the VT80 as a technical innovation for power and the N90 II for power players. I think therefore the VT80 is easier to play with than the N90 II and therefore suitable for more players. I do share the experience with Paul that the Voltric 80 is an amazing racket.

I have the Yonex VT80, high end racquet i must said.

I believe majority of offensive style player will feel nice to do smash and clear without much effort especially backhand.

My backhand smash now also seems more powerful.

My next racquet to get will be Victor Meteor X80, N90 II too expensive, not affordable currently :<

    I got 2 N90II and recently i just bought 2 VT80 ..

I enjoying the speed of the VT80 and also the backhand clearing, since i been using it for 2 weeks.

anyway, VT80 lack the control and power as compared to N90II.

Oops.. it also mess up my timing as i can't switch back to N90II for the time being. I guess i will still continue using VT80 for a while and decide which one suit me best.

    My VT80 is 4UG5... my tension 27lbs using BG66UM.

All my rackets are tensioned at 27lbs using BG66UM, which i feel is best string right now.

In the power department, i think the N90 is probably more powerful then the N90II, but how would it compare with the VT80? Better, worse?? I've played with the VT70 for a short while, but the VT80 has had "much more" power or just quality, so im wondering how would they match up? N90 vs VT80? (i do realize that i've just ruined this thread....)

    wings air wth lol?

Anyway cmon guys gimme a conclusion here, im steering towards the vt 80 because it generates a bit more power because even though i can hit good smashes i dont tend to in a game for some reason... what about the woods n90 I? i know that thats only tailor made for lin dan though, and the ii was made to be more suitable to a broader range of people. I have the vt70, so what do you think? change to li ning, or go for the voltric 80?

All in all, Lee chong wei's racket or Lin Dan's racket coincidentally... :p

    Reply ASAP!

    lindanftw lolz not much better

Anyway, if your looking for raw power (assuming your a higher level player) go for the N90. The high b.p, high stiffness, and extreme head heaviness make this a great racket if your are an attacking player. If you are not as powerful, and stay behind more for defense, VT80 is the way to go. Although its defensive ability is less then say NS9900, its ease in clears and head heavy stability at high speeds make it easy to defend with. It is true the N90 is harder to play with, because it was tailor made, and that the VT80 is more people-friendly, but the power that the N90 can show is more powerful...

On a personal note i think the N90 is a better racket. Two days ago i played with a person in a national varsity competition, he with the VT80 and me with the N90, and i came out victorious! *im not sure how that fits in with the advice, but..*

btw: its strange that the descriptions for both of these rackets fit whom they were intended for... lol one for a one shot killer and the other for the more defensive one... sweeeet!

Hi juventus1, I see that you have owned many rackets and I wonder what is your opinion about VT80 and Li Ning Woods N90 (not II)? Currently they Li Ning is selling for $180 and I wonder if it is worth to spend extra $45 to get the VT80? Thanks!

just bought n90 one week ago.. i always use vt 80 3uG5 and can handle it very easy but when i use n90 i cant smash or lob there lack of power so i add 3 layers medic tape on frame 10 - 2 clock until bp 310mm still cant generate the beast's power.. what should i do?? i feel n90 less head heavy than vt 80. even vt 80 have bp only 305mm...<img src="images/smilies/confused.gif" alt="" title="Confused" smilieid="11" class="inlineimg" border="0">

What is the string tension of your VT80 & N90 respectively?
It could be that the string attached on your N90 is too high than what you normally preferred.

How long has NBG 98 attached on your N90? Do you just restring it and use it, or you are buying from another guy (2nd hand ) and NBG98 has already been attached ?

Do you feel that N90 is heavier than VT80? What about the grip size? Is it the same with your VT80?

I feel n90 same weight with vt80 but not head heavy.. So I put 3layers medic tape on n90. I think I miss the correct momentum when hitting the feather(my arm very suffering with n90 + 3 layers). I will put off 1 layer from the frame n will test on friday.. The grip size s2 and yonex g5 same grip same overgrip..

Do you think N90 is not head heavy? N90 is supposed to be head heavier than VT80.
If you have similar grip size, then you could try to change the string to be the same with VT80, so we could know the outcome.

i can feel n90 is head heavy but at the whole frame, not at the top of frame. when u hold vt80 u can feel vt80 very head heavy only at the top of frame (10 and 2 clock). my smash become flat when use n90. so i add tape at the top of frame.

maybe i will use for several games if i still cant find the feeling i will change the string. if i still cant i will sell it. haha. btw thank you for the advice.
