I've played badminton previously for about a year, took a break and since played tennis (3 years) and I'm starting to play badminton again with my friends. However, my old racquet is some random big 5 racquet of unknown brand. And I figured I might as well get a decent racquet to play with if I'm going to invest some time into badminton. I mostly play doubles and prefer playing at the back so I often smash. As a high school student, my budget is $60-70. I'm not particularly picky, so a *good*-cheap racquet will work fine. Thanks for the help!

If you've got a strong tennis arm, and you like smashing, try this: http://www.amazon.com/SOTX-Badminto...e=UTF8&s=sporting-goods&qid=1302264500&sr=8-1 Not overly heavy, but the stiffness and balance is such that you won't be able to enjoy it unless you have a strong arm and good technique. That being said, this is a good price for a very solid racket.

This has had a few reviews on BC as a good-value-for-money racket : http://cgi.ebay.com/RKEP-AT800P-bad...657?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item20b38a3cc1 . I can't speak for the racket, but the proprieter, Eric, gives good customer service (note the excellent quality grips and string included). Quick to answer emails, and fast shipper.

Of course instead of buying online, you may be better off trying to find a good quality used racket, locally. At least you'd be able to "swing before you buy". Good luck :)
