Hi all - I have been tasked with revamping our badminton club's website. As badminton enthusiasts what sort of things would you expect/like to see on your clubs site? Our current site can be seen at www.belsteadbadmintonclub.org.uk if anyone is interested.

Would like it to be quite visual with club results etc - any other ideas most welcome.

    Thanks all

A lot of space wasted on top right corner. Make use of it. Put in some international players photos and videos. ;)

Whatever you do, don't make it processor-intensive. There are a lot of people out there with slow connections and older processors, and their computers go crazy when accessing certain websites full of flash and full of crap.

The most important thing is to provide the information your visitors may be looking for. The website currently doesn't do a great job at this. For example:

    • How many courts do you have?
    • How many club nights? Are they graded into sections, or one mixed-ability group?
    • What days are the club nights? Start and finish times?
    • Do you play with plastic or feather shuttles?
    • How much does it cost?

Currently you expect prospective members to fill out a contact form before getting access to this information. That's an unnecessary barrier. Put the informaton up there for everyone to see; it can help them decide whether to bother contacting your club.

You might think about how to design the website to accommodate two different audiences: members and prospective members.
