How do I close my account here or change my screen name?

My email address is no longer working. How do I close my account here or change my screen name and/or email address?

To change the e-mail address: Go to "Settings" in the upper right hand corner, then to "My Settings" on the lower left side, and there you can find "Edit E-mail & Password" under the heading "My Account".

Thanks. But then my new email won't match my new screen name. I just don't understand why we can't change the screen name, or delete our account and make a new one. After all, it is our account.

Well, these are the rules. The logic for the screen name one is that you should be easily identified, and not be able to change your name every day so people will end up having no idea who you are.

Why do you want the e-mail address to match your user name, anyway? It's not like people can see your e-mail address, so it's not like matching clothes or something... Does it really bug you that much?

It does bug me, especially if I can't just close my damn account. I try to keep my online identity to the minimum. I just don't want to leave personal traces of my identity online, which is why I sometimes want to erase my account completely on different websites. I mean, surely you must understand. We live on a digital age, and privacy is very important. They can link anything to you these days, and identity theft is very serious. But thanks anyway.

You could change your name legally for 125 dollars. I'm joking but if you are really that concerned why don't you just send a message to one of the moderators or the mighty kwan?

I would like to have my account deleted as well. If anyone knows the step, please let me know. I could not find any after going through all the settings.
