So I was watching a badminton game b/w Lee Chong Wei and Lin Dan, and Lin strings snapped and he cut the strings right away. So i was wondering y they do that is it?? Thxs for replies
Professionals usually string their racquets at a high tension. When the string breaks, the tension becomes uneven, thus causing the racquet to warp if the strings are not cut.
This has been discussed quite a bit and I think the answer should be pretty obvious, uneven tension can easily bend/warp/break a racket, especially at higher tensions. Just like a poor stringer can break/warp a racket during stringing due to uneven pressure on the head, a string break does the same thing.
