Volleyball shoes are typically have a lot more padding on the bottom since in volleyball a lot more jumping is required. I would not suggest using badminton shoes to play volleyball, since in volleyball there is a high chance of twisting your ankle (a lot of jumping in the front court with your opponents jumping as well on the other side of the net, possibly landing on your opponents foot etc.), thus shoes are designed to minimize that danger (ankle braces are still worn in some cases though).
