Have you seen any renowned player coming out from the tutelage of that gentlemen that you were chatting to? I am very confident to say there's none. That's understandable considering he will ask his students to eat roti canai instead of encouraging them learn how to deal with disappointment.
Nothing good ever come out of his mouth and naturally nothing good come out of his hand or guidance. So, don't have to waste your time.

Nice statistics. Time is running out because China (Chen Long, Wang, Du), Japan (Tago, Ueda) and Korea (that guy that beat lcw) is waiting and roaring.

Don't waste time. He may just get 1 or 2 SS in his live if he is lucky.
I don't think he reads this forum tho. If he reads this. Bangun la kawan; jam 4am boleh?

well certainly, there is another big problem of BAM, that is, keep on sendiong players to tournaments they arent fit for. its clear to me that Daren Liew is not at the level, and participating in SSP and SS wont let him win any tournaments, well u can see whats the impact to a player: "i go in a tournament, my goal is to reach... place" cmon, unless a player think he can win a tournament, or else he cant win.
Daren Liew should get more GPG GP and IC tournaments to seriously boost his morale and let him understand his status, not gaining some good points in SS and really not improving at all

I hope for him to be more aggresive in his game. He has too much respect for some players.

He should be in his peak now.

rashid send them to SS, and that, is just some experience for them to lose. nothing to gain because they are definately a league below the other players. BAM nee to revise their policy. while technique may seems more important, player confidence and world ranking do make a huge lot of difference. at least, you dont have to play through 2 rounds of qualification!

that is why they need to participate more in gpg n gp tournament.play lower level tournament to build confidence?well, base on current performances,it seems like not enough tournament to me

Daren is already a matured person. he should be able to decide for himself. He is considered a top 20 player. So being in SS is ok. Winning is another of course. Same for GP. No guarantee to win. I prefer to play big players to improve myself rather than playing small players.

btw, he got to go back to do some basic smash shots. I think the coaches giving him all the tougher ones ignoring those fundamental shots or strokes.

i always believe that a world class player and a second rated player have 3 differences:
1: world ranking position
2: physical techniques
3: tournament ablities
1: world ranking maybe impostant for seeding and qualification of main draw. players like arif and even chong wei feng sometimes faced the fact that they need to play extra match in SS or SSP due to poorer position. daren liew however, have enough point for himself to be among the top 30(a bit of flucuation), and that should be enough to be included in the top 28 of participants in SSP game. in this aspect, i think he done well, thanks to his frequent participation in SSP and SS tournaments.
2: techniques, i am not sure how well he is, or rather how well he can be. for him to be so constantly defeated by stronger opponents, we can say that he is not there yet. however one thing i wonder is, maybe, just maybe he dont have the talent. he dont have the talent of players like Chen Long or kenichi togo.
3: tournament ablities, i seriously think this is what he is lacking of. he dont know how to win a tournament. he goes in to a tournament thinking that, "if i get lucky, i can finish last eight." he cant take much stress, cant stand up to stronger opponent, and nobody is placing hope for him defeating the chinese. thats why i simply think that he should change his focus to tournaments like GPG and GP so that he can learn how to handle it better. he can only walk, he cant run yet, so dont expect him to fly
