2011 BAC: Day 4 (Friday 22-April) Quarter-Finals

We have arrived at the last 20 matches. The schedule can be found located at;

Out of the 20 matches, China will be involved in 16. The other countries involved are;

Badminton is global sports now..

Chen Jin appears to be a spent force.
He has been beaten by lower ranked and unheralded players and has been shown the exit in early stages of tournaments.
I hope that he gets well if he is injured.
Liew Darren did well to stretch Du Pengyu to 3 games and the score was close.
Hopefully the only Malaysians left, GWS/LKW, will do well in the QF.

However, we give credit to Sho Sasaki [11] who is currently playing well.

Chen Jin [5] is only seeded 6 places above Sasaki. The match with the scores of 21-12, 20-22, 21-15, in 78 minutes tells us that Sasaki is probably fitter Chen Jin.

seems like japan and thailand have arrived as powerful badminton nations ... they have performed well consistently in many tournaments. indonesia and korea is struggling but is ok for now.. although they seem to be on a downward trend too.. china maintains. malaysia is nowhere to be found

I think it's odd that North Korea is not good at badminton, because the sport has such a strong presence in East and Southeast Asia. This is in strong contrast to table tennis, where they are pretty good.
