. 2011 BAC: Day 4 (Friday 22-April) Quarter-Finals We have arrived at the last 20 matches. The schedule can be found located at; http://www.tournamentsoftware.com/s...EFAE40-EE8E-4AB3-82AB-2972E5BE5586&d=20110422 Out of the 20 matches, China will be involved in 16. The other countries involved are; * Thailand........... (6) * Japan............... (5) * Chinese Taipei... (3) * Indonesia......... (2) * Korea............... (1) * Malaysia........... (1) * Vietnam........... (1) This is rather disappointing because our Badminton Asia Confederation consists of 39 countries, namely; Afghanistan Bahrain Bangladesh Bhutan Brunei Cambodia China Chinese Taipei DPR of Korea East Timor Hong Kong India Indonesia Iran Iraq Japan Jordan Kazakhstan Korea Kuwait Kyrgyzstan Laos Lebanon Macau Malaysia Maldives Mongolia Myanmar Nepal Pakistan Palestine Philippines Singapore Sri Lanka Syria Thailand Turkmenistan Uzbekistan Vietnam .
Chen Jin appears to be a spent force. He has been beaten by lower ranked and unheralded players and has been shown the exit in early stages of tournaments. I hope that he gets well if he is injured. Liew Darren did well to stretch Du Pengyu to 3 games and the score was close. Hopefully the only Malaysians left, GWS/LKW, will do well in the QF.
2011 BAC R-16: Sho Sasaki [11] defeated Chen Jin [5] . However, we give credit to Sho Sasaki [11] who is currently playing well. Chen Jin [5] is only seeded 6 places above Sasaki. The match with the scores of 21-12, 20-22, 21-15, in 78 minutes tells us that Sasaki is probably fitter Chen Jin. .
Badminton Asia Confederation consists of 39 countries . I haven't checked and counted how many of the 39 countries did send participants to this 2011 BAC event. .
The Thais are really doing well in this tournament........ Yes, hope LKW/GWS could at least take a game off CY/FHF.......
Sho Sasaki beat Chen Jin .. Any bros believe will he beat Lin Dan tonight ? Fu Haifeng , Cai yun , is expected to win tonight
Support all CHINA players while i'm in holiday,,,,,,,, ZHONG GUO DUI .... Jiaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa Youuuuuuuuuuuuu....
seems like japan and thailand have arrived as powerful badminton nations ... they have performed well consistently in many tournaments. indonesia and korea is struggling but is ok for now.. although they seem to be on a downward trend too.. china maintains. malaysia is nowhere to be found the changing of the guards is a painful thing
21 countries participated: Bangladesh Cambodia China Chinese Taipei Hong Kong India Indonesia Iraq Japan Korea Malaysia Maldives Mongolia Philippines Singapore Sri Lanka Syria Thailand Turkmenistan Uzbekistan Vietnam I think it's odd that North Korea is not good at badminton, because the sport has such a strong presence in East and Southeast Asia. This is in strong contrast to table tennis, where they are pretty good.
2011 BAC QF: 8 out of the 21 participating countries are remaining . Thanks Gicutzu, So out of the 21 countries, we have 8 remaining at the Quarter-Finals. .
On Court 3, Alvent Yulianto Chandra/Hendra Aprida Gunawan [4] vs. Xu Chen/Zhang Nan [6]. The Indonesians are ranked 4th in the world, while the Chinese are unranked.
