i strung two ZM62. both new version, both red:
AT700@27lbs
MX70@29lbs
on AT700 it was decent but not wow factor.
on MX70 it was definitely wow on the first hit.
i have only used each one for a few days. so far no issues with durability.
from the look of it a sample size of 2 not breaking for only a few days isn't very conclusive but also at the same time, is quite an achievement if it were the old ZM62.

I may be bucking the trend here, but as far as new vs. old goes with Z70, in direct comparison (same racket, same tension) I think the old Z70 has the edge on power, sound, and sharpness/crispness. It sounds higher after several hours' play than the new Z70 did before I even hit a shuttle with it. The new Z70 has better feel, but that's about it. I think the new coating may be compromising the repulsion, if I'm honest.

I tried ZM62 last week on my Z-Slash, and it was definitely "wow" when smashing, however the string bed just exploded after a couple smashes

I felt like Lee Yong-dae during the AE!
Yeah, thin strings + winter + Canada + slight miss hits =

Yesterday I played six matches with the ZyMax 65 at 28lbs. I have only one word for it: awesome!

Very good control at the net, amazing power in the back and a beautiful high sound on impact. It seems to be at least on par with the ZyMax 62, but that string probably wouldn't even made it to the second or third match.. Now, after all those matches, the strings are still going strong and minimal to none tension has been lost. I'll have to do some more testing, with other rackets too, to be more precise about the durability. But I'm pretty sure I'm gonna switch from the 67 to the 65!

I have a reel of the 2nd generation ZyMax 67 in red, of course
!
I got a few sets of the red ZyMax 65 from a good contact in the UK. He got a few packages to try from Ashaway HQ.. He told me he expected to receive a few reels (in white) in april..

Ok, interesting you notice a significant difference between 67 and 65
. Or were you looking at it from a 62 point of view and just see the 65 as a 62 with durability? (or they have done more tweaking to the 65 in the in between time
)
@ Panda: you chart looks just fine
.

A few months ago I played with all the second generation ZyMax strings and picked the 67 as my go-to string. So I don't remember the precise feel of the 62 anymore, but my impression of the 65 was so good, I have to say that I think the 65 is the best of all the ZyMax strings! It's harder and gives more repulsion. The power I was able to generate in the rear court was amazing! The string is rougher than the 67, so control at the net was better too. I could make the shuttle tumble like
!
And what I said before, the durability seems to be much better than the 62 (maybe even better than the 67), but more testing is needed. And I don't mind!
