In terms of durability, how does the new '67 compare to the BG65ti and BG80? I tried the old 67 in silver and I really liked it. I'm actually quite a big hitter but seldom seem to break strings. My preferred tension is 25lbs.

Both zm67 and 70 are incredibly durable with excellent tension retention. Zm62 on the other hand...

    Thanks Visor,

I also really liked the original '70. I thought it had excellent feel and repulsion. However, I felt that it's durability was slightly overrated. Also - somewhat ironically - I felt it lost its tension very quickly. I think I'll avoid the 62 but give the 67 a try. Is there a marked difference in terms of durability between the new and old 67? Stringers World UK are selling them pretty cheaply anyway so I might buy a few packs.

    i sense a ZM65 vs. VS850 head-to-head comparison is brewing.

Please provide photos and stringing video for the hardcore. Wanna know how much they stretch and frequency of sound when they are placed side by side!!!

I really liked the original Zymaxes, particularly the '70, because of its textured outer coating. Do the upgraded version(s) still maintain that coarse outer feel?

The 67 Doesn't have a pronounced texture like some Ashaway strings do. In fact, it seems less textured than VS850.

Strung my rackets with Red Zymax 62 about 10 weeks ago. Had a few mishits but sofar the string is still in one piece. With the previous yellow version I had to string a racket about every 1~2 weeks.

So in my case durability has improved quite al lot compared to the first generation.

Still if it was the case I wouldn't mind re-stringing. Tried quit a few strings but none of them had the hard feeling when hitting the birdie with Zymax 62.

AFAIK only by the colour of the packaging. Red/blue is old. Black is new.

What if the packing is yellow, i mean the cover is yellow and the writing on it is black.

Not sure whether it is me or something else.

I have strung my T2 with Zymax62 twice. The strings are excellent in terms of power and feel and I note that on MkII strings they have rougher feeling some sort like BG80 texture.

The issue that I am facing with the string is that some how it loses its crispness after few sessions of hard smashing. Even with the MkII I am still facing the same issue. Don't feel like the string lost any tension though but the crispness feeling is just not there anymore. In the end, I just have to cut the strings. Other information is that it was strung for about 2 months and I only play on weekends with a total playtime of 6 hours a week.

I don't think that this is a stringer issue as I have been going to the same stringer where the stringing is excellent. Zymax62 at 21lbs ECP that feels like 27lbs ECP + 5% prestretch with BG80.

    Anyone else face this issue?

    Guys,

Stringers World are selling-off their remaining stock of the original Zymax at heavily reduced prices.

    Here's the link: http://www.stringersworld.co.uk/sect...old_production

Any string that's been on a racket for that amount of time (2+ weeks) will lose its initial crispness, initial "pop".
This is the reason why pros and serious amateurs restring their rackets regularly.
