Appropriate Gel cushioning placing in shoes for badminton
Hi there,
I'm thinking of buying a gel cushion shoe from asics but as I go through their web, it shows that different model (depend on price) have different gel placing. For example:
1. gel rocket: gel located in forefeet
2. gel 1130v: gel located in rearfeet
3. gel blade; gel located in rearfeet and forefeet
4. ..... gel located in rearfeet and forefeet + other tech...
and the price getting higher as u go down the line. My target is the first 2 due to tight budget but i just dont know which one is more effective or should i say just enough for protection against injury when you landing after a jump smash. Please give your opinion on the first two shoes based on thier gel positioning..thanks

badminton has a lot of lateral movement in which gel is not suitable for. you will end up sliding/shearing the gel insert.
if you really have to have it, have it in the heel. otherwise, find out other more solid insole material.

I have the gel blade 3 and its very useful on the cushions. At first ur feet might not get use to it, but after that it will feel very comfortable and easy on ur feet.

Nope, its good. Im still as fast, but first few hours of usage, my left feet got pain abit la on the front, not sure why also. But after like 2-3 sessions, im okay already. I think it takes time to get use to it because before this i always wear futsal shoe. so my front feet is always flat down compared to the gel blade3 which got curve in front. That's all. Overall quite a good shoe. Like it because its quite light and the cushioning is good.

bro,
can share us more infor based on ur long experience n know how.
if u just taking about fitting then buying a thicker shocks to fill up the gap would fit our feet...
what ur thought on advantage of lower padding mean better n faster movement in court but more pain on our feet when we landing from jumping smash to ground surface..
what other criteria we should look up to gain the max performance from the shoe...
lets share them all to us bro...
