I reviewed this racquet some time ago and didn't have many good things to say about it. In my opinion I'd look for something else. There are far better racquets in the Victor range like Meteor 70.

I saw your review for the spira 21, but not the 22. The meteor doesn't interest me in the slightest though :S I already expect an even balance victor to be head-heavy when compared to carlton, and that's not my thing at all.

VICTOR Europe has released a couple of stiff rackets - Flumetec and Bracetec - not sure what they are like - got a couple to demo still at home

I tested them this morning. I'm going to write up reviews on this. It was a bit strange that the lower numbered model had the stiffer shaft - which didn't make a lot of sense.

Overall pretty good racquets with Bracetec being the better models.

MX80 is just barely head heavy, nothing like the Voltrics or whatnot. Do you want a head light racket?

I want even balance by Carlton standards, the racket I'm currently using. Previously I used head light, but already went to even balance to cater to my smash power. I'm now happy with my drives, smashes and clears, so I really don't want to move even head-heavier.
That's why both the BS10 and the Spira 22 appealed to me: very stiff shaft, available in 4U and not head heavy. The spira appeals to me more because it sounds like a faster racket than the BS10, and that really suits my play.

The Spira 22 in the reviews I've read, however, don't seem to be the specs seen on victor's website linked above, so I think it's a different version (I read that country codes affect stiffness, and the racket is available in both 3U and 4U).

Personally I'd go with BS10. It's head and shoulders better than Spira range, really fast swing, easy to move for defence too.

I was already going to test the BS10 out, but didn't want to close out the options prematurely.

Either a 3u BS10 or a 4u MX70 should be on your short list to try out. Even though mx70 dry bp is around 295mm but the frame is thin and fast that it feels like a 285-290mm bp.

the spira series (SP21, SP22) have in general not received very good reception so far from badminton players. so much so that Victor is planning to / considering discontinuing the Spira series.

That's a smart moved.

As Kwun said, and I heard from Victor Europe, they are no longer manufacturing Spira series because they were not popular with players.

Whether some of the technology will be used on later models is questionable. But for now you're better choosing a racquet that delivers every time. For that it has to be a Bravesword.

i got BS10 3U & SP22 4U (added victor power lead tape at 3,6 & 9o'clock) and play with both for quite sometimes...imho, if u are looking for fast speed and better smashing power, go for BS10 for sure. SP22 is just like 'nothing' special to get impressed. I switch to SP22 when i feel like playing with leisure or my opponent level is somewhat beginner

extra stiff?? yes, but good for defence only.
