Hi, I'll be in attending a week long summer school at Menlo College in Atherton, CA and like to play some badminton there in the evening or night time. Is there some places close (preferably walking distance) from the college ? Or I would really appreciate if someone can give me a ride to some of the badminton places in the area.

This would be my first time in the Bay area --- really excited for the visit and hopefully can get some badminton games there.

    Thanks,

Atherton is next to Menlo Park. which is where Royal Badminton Academy is. look it up in the forums here.

it is 3 miles from Menlo College.

i am afraid i am not a regular in RBA. otherwise i might be able to pick you up. it is definitely bikable as i know people who bike there from Stanford.

maybe some other people can help.

I'll be there from May 23-27, 2011 but I can only play in the evening & night time. 3 Mile walking in a new area at night is probably a bit rough for me. Hopefully someone can offer a ride.

Do I need to be member or anything to play ? I just want to check out some badminton plays in CA and play 2-3 hrs for may be one or two times.

    Thanks,

evening is when there are most people. probably 7-11pm is the best time.

RBA is drop-in basis (i think $8), you need to bring your own equipment and shuttles.

if you are decent level, they have a challenge court every Tuesday which is really fun. i might go that week and can give you a lift.

but for other days, i cannot help. unfortunately it is quite a distance from where i live otherwise i can help pick u up.
