2 yr waiting list!!!!!! what???? i don't think so.... all i had to wait for 6 months. maybe you got the wrong information. i'm pretty sure the waiting list isn't longer than 1 yr.

I have my level 2, but personally all this certification is garbage. I know a number of badminton coaches that have their level 2 and play worse than beginners (IMHO).

For you my recommendation is go to Frank Chen. He is a good player - singles oriented. I am a doubles player. He charges for training and has a regular gym he has full access to. He also has greater patience than I do.

I am only volunteering at the Guildford rec center, and at little badrad's high school
I coach large groups, and also personally I only have 5 students that I have chosen to take completley under my wing. They are dedicated and come out when I run a practice no questions asked. They compete regularly at various tournaments and nationals.

I'm not looking for high maintenance students...

I had a couple of lessons with Frank before I ran out of money to continue

yes, I think Frank Chen is good and you should definitely give it a try.

Hm...badrad, do u happen to teach Chris Lee then? if you do, then congratulations on the coaching job because he was amazing at the Nationals last week

No, my friend coaches Chris and my daughter (little badrad). Like myself, he doesn't charge for his services, and he only will train those he want to. As far as I know he is only working on 4 students as well.

Jeez, I hoped that you guys realized that I was kidding about the level 10 of 12, eh?

There is only four levels in the coaching (in Canada). As for what level Frank Chen is at, I don't know and I don't think it matters as Badrad has previously posted. It's the person ability to coach and impart the necessary knowledge to the student.

The first time that I played singles with Frank, I only managed to get a point off him and he wasn't even trying

Only thing is Frank coaches in Richmond so you will have to factor in the transportation (i.e. can you get down to the church gym easily). I will see him tonight and if he is amiable, I will pass on his contact info.

BTW, SmashingBird took lessons from Frank so can give you a better assessment of how well he coaches.
