that's quite the price range... you could get quite a variety of coaches for that price... maybe you should be a little more specific....

You can try contact Yao Ximing at Vancouver Racquets club. He was former China national team member and world doubles champion.

    Good luck.

Given a choice between Calvin, Xiao Ming and Sian, I would pick either Xiao Ming and Sian over Calvin. No offense, Calvin :D :D

Why don't you try Darryl Yung?

There is a waiting list to get it to the VRC,so.....unless they train people out side of the VRC (private lessons) then i don't think they'd train me

how old are you? there is only waiting list for juniors. however you could still take private lessons at vrc, or if you are a junior you could also take junior group lessons. you don't need membership for these.

    group lessons link: http://www.vrc.bc.ca/badmintonjrtraining.html
private lessons: look above (my post with all the details) for phone #'s and phone them.

well you don't have to have membership... for junior group trainings it's cheaper though if you have membership. otherwise private lessons are the same price i think, not sure :p

When I started to play badminton I learned my first steps with 2 gentlemen. They taught me a few things like strokes, footwork, tactics, etc. These 2 gentlemen even won a tournament held in China back in the 80's and held the title of world champions in their category - over 70 years old??. I really thank them for their effort in teaching me and it was also because of them that I started to love badminton.

But it can't be compared with what I've later learn from a top professional coach from China. I had to discard what I've learnt before so I could progress. My strokes, footwork, tactical thinking, everything had to change.

One have to be aware the big difference between an amateur player and a top professional player. You can't possibly compare the level of badminton in Canada with that of China. Yao Ximing was a top badminton player. He represented his country China and won top level honors at international competitions. This kind of experience is not easily obtainable. Especially that 'little' knowledge to guide one to reach the top in badminton.

If I were serious about badminton and looking for a badminton coach for improving my skills I would go to Yao Ximing. Julia Chen or Deng Xian would be good alternatives - according to my knowledge.
