Hi guys, I've personally tried various Victor and Yonex rackets, but I've never tried any Li-Ning rackets. From my extensive reading, these are currently the best rated rackets for each brand (please post if I'm missing some): Li-Ning : N90II / N70II / N55II N50II / N33II BP320Ti / BP350Ti BP770 Victor : MX80 BS12 / BS11 / BS10 / BS09 SW36 / SW37 Spira21 Yonex : VT70 / VT80 ArcZ-Slash / Arc10 AT900P / AT900T NS9900 / NS9000X This post is directed at those who have genuinely tried all or most of the above rackets across all 3 brands. What are your honest opinions? Victor rackets generally tend to be the cheapest, while LiNing rackets tend to be the most expensive, while Yonex is in between. Does this mean that LiNing is the best and Victor is the worst? I personally don't think so. In fact, I generally prefer Yonex over LiNing, although I haven't tried the Voltric series yet. I think that Victor BS series, LiNing N series and Yonex Arcsaber series are not much difference. Anyway, look forward to hearing your thoughts. Thanks for Viewing!
I'd like to hear some comparisions as well. My long term goal is to have a racket of each brand. I already have the Yonex VT80. So next up for me is Victor and then Li-Ning.
You forgot the first edition rackets of Li Ning N90 and N70 N50... that are different Rackets compare to the II. Rackets I have played with NS9900 / NS9000X, SW35, N90, N90II, N50, N70. For me in single matches the N90 is by far the best racket out of those. So for me N90>N90II,N70>>SW35, N50>NS9900, NS9000X In double I like the N90II best. So double: N90II>N50,N90,SW35>NS9900, NS9000X I am interested in the comparison between N90 and VT80.
You have named every Victor racket apart from the racket, widely regarded as one of Victors best rackets, and probably one of the best rackets available at the moment, the SW35. How can you forget it! For me I have tried and own 3xSW35, 2xAT700LTD, 1xNS9900 and 1xAT900T all 3U except AT900T = 4U Singles: SW35>AT700L>NS9900>AT900T Doubles: SW35>NS9900>AT700L>AT900T Mixed: SW35>AT700L>NS9900>AT900T (yes I have different preferences when playing doubles and mixed) SW35 for me, is king I will try MX80 soon @Avenger, haha, yeah I couldn't believe my eyes SW36 better rated than SW35 ? Dont make me laugh
"LD rules!", I might have asked you before, but have you tried the VT80? If so, how does it compare with your SW35?
Not yet, I should be able to try it soonish but not before the end of May. From what I have read, it is more head heavy, but less stiff (slightly?) VT80 is more expensive than SW35. I remembered that you were asking about VT80 price, personnally if I paid more than US$180 for the VT80 I would feel ripped off. I think I will probably go for a MX80 next though.
Seems the best price I can get here for the VT80 is around $210-220 USD, including string of choice and stringing. Really expensive, but from extensive reading, I think it would be the best racket (of the "new" ones) to suit my style. Still don't know anyone who has the VT80 so it's hard to "try before buy". I would like to see more follow-up reviews of the VT80 too.
just buy a SW35 new is not always the best, just look at the Ti10 1st gen, lots of people still swear by it.
I owned & tried Victor BS11, SP21, & The Legend, also from LiNing N50. This is my personal rating from most powerful smash (slow defensive) to faster maneuver (less smash-power). Victor The Legend > N50 > SP21 > BS11. I don't really like Yonex racket due to its durability.
well, i do agree with arfandy.... i've tried all the 3 brands already and at the moment, i frequent use li-ning & victor compare to yonex while playing.. here's my list of rackets based on the brand: yonex: armotec 900 carbonex 8 armotec 250 (sold) muscle power 66 (sold) ti 1 (sold) ti 2 (sold) li-ning: n90 II n55 UC2000A HC1500 victor: super waves 32 (sold) super waves 3250 challenger 9300
I have try SW35, SW798, BS12, AT700LTD, NS9900, Z-SLASH, SP21, Lining normal technical 156 STIFF - SP21>SW35>NS9900>AT700LTD>BS12>SW798>Z-SLASH POWER - SP21>SW35>AT700LTD>Z-SLASH>SW798NS9900>BS12 CONTROL - SP21>SW35>BS12>AT700LTD>SW798>NS9900>Z-SLASH SPEED - BS12>NS9900>SP21>SW35>SW798>Z-SLASH>AT700LTD HEAD HEAVY - SP21>SW35>AT700LTD>Z-SLASH>SW798>NS9900>BS12 Will try on VT80 and MX80 or lining high end reacket in future...
I used all the YYs, the BS11,10,9,sw35,37, an LN N90II,N70II,55II, 50II. You should really include the non-II N-series of LN as well.. the -II is a bit missleading as the II-s are not simply upgrades ut different constructions, BPs etc, so I think the naming is missleading. I like Victor very much as they seem to be the most innovative company out of the top-three. I have not tried the MX80 yet though. Quality and solidity feel LN wins hands down on over YY. When stringing the LNs frames are usually the most rigid and less deforming. I would say LN an Vicor are very close and Yonex has been slipping for some time now.
I have yet to try Li-Ning, but out of principle, I'm kind of not bothered. They come to the market new but have the audacity to charge the very highest premium prices and even then, have poor QA. Repeat breaking grommets, poor quality wood handle finishing etc. If you're going to charge paramount prices, you better damn well bring only the most premium quality. So for me Li-Ning is ruled out. Victor. Just brilliant. Overall I'd say Victor was my fave racket manufacturer among them all. They not only have some of the best innovations in racket design (indented grommets for more string less visible plastic, angular frames, 80 grommet strings, woven graphite on the high end stuff etc etc) but they are also astonishingly, the cheapest. As far as quick, defensive high precision control rackets go, Victor imo cannot be beat. Slightly aggressive to medium aggressive, again, imo the MX80 is sublime. That additional power but with limited if any speed loss. Yonex, great QA, beautiful art and durable paint, but imo slightly archaic racket design. Besides changing dimensions of shafts and head frames, the general frame design itself hasn't really changed much over the years. Add to that, it's very clunky. Also, imo Yonex charge far too much. For rackets, shuttles and accessories. Basically, you are pretty much paying for the name. That said, they do have good quality rackets and fill a niche that Victor still has yet to conquer, that being the ultra aggressive segment. Currently the VT80 is still imo the best choice for an ultra aggressive tool. It is a bit in-efficient in design, and overly demanding to use compared to other Victor rackets, but it still packs a punch in terms of power that's currently missing in the Victor range. An ultra head heavy MX80 would probably solve that. But till then, it's one area Yonex still lead. But in all other areas, head-light or fast technical speed rackets, all round or slightly aggressive based rackets, imo Victor have it. With the BS10, BS12 for the prior and the MX80 for the latter.
Yes , i agree superwave 35 is a powerful and best Victor has produce, really hard smashes i play yesterday . rating 9/10. Balancing point around 298-301. But I believe the most stiffnest racket and head heavy racket is Lin Dan's N90 ., balancing point 304-305.
Still, I'd probably take an MX80 over the SW35 personally. My MX80 is 301mm with BG66UM and Super Grap (BP lowers by 5mm using heavier RKEP grips) so it's not far off the SW35, but imo has better materials (carbon woven head), better frame aerodynamics (octo frame) and string retention from the 80 grommet design. Comparatively, my VT80 is 315mm BP with the same string and grip. So it's quite a lot head heavier. Far as I can tell Victor still don't have anything as head heavy as the VT80 or N90.
That's the measurement from my own VT80. Strung with BG66UM and Super Grap. It's now gripped with RKEP G11 so the BP has probably dropped a bit. Just my guess though.
