I'm currently using the bg66 ulitmax right now and i'm really enjoying the power and control that I get out of it at the moment. I'm going to be getting a Li-ning racket soon so my friend a Li-ning fan recommended to me to try the accupower 62. Does anyone have experience with the two?

I have experience with both. Putting them head-to-head, at the same tension:

    Power - AP62 > 66UM
    Control - AP62 > 66UM
    Feel - AP62 > 66UM
    Durability - 66UM > AP62

I found 66UM to be identical to 66M, but definitely more powerful than "normal" 66, but AP62 is a different species entirely, which I reviewed here.

What exactly are you suggesting, @LD?:D

I am suggesting that, Li Ning and Ashaway are/were working on a joint project when creating the AP/ZM62.:) hence they are pretty much the same string.:)

I tried the AP62+ I am so pleased with the performance. It is way better than the Ap62 regular or 1st generation. I find that it has better repulsion, control, feel to it compared with BG66UM. I usually string it at 1 or 2 lbs higher and let it sit for a week. The tension would be perfect and would have better durability. The only drawback I find with this string is the defense is not as good as BG66UM because the strings are harder. But love it though.

Have you thought of trying Victor VS650. Its similar to 66um but VS650 feels better?

My friend commented that AP62 is not durable... can see signs of wear and tear right after the first session

My AP62+ still looking good without signs of wear yet. Been through 3 sessions of 2 hours play.
Personally felt is more durable than the first generation.
    Good option for ZM62 / BG66UM

a regular user of bg66 for the past decade.. recently i had 2 racquets on AP62 since the shop i was stringing at didnt have 66um in the colors i wanted..
both strung at 24 and 25lbs respectively.. the feel's good!
doesnt seem to stretch out too much too, tension's pretty good after a while.
    its worth a try :)

Guess this new AP62+ is better quality than AP62... might just give this a try after my BG80P or NBG98 broke... BG80P is a bit too hard for my liking... :)

I love the feeling of the AP62+ more than 66UM. AP 62+ has more repulsion and power. Slice shots are very accurate as well. Only drawback is the defense on smashes I need to put more wrist action to it because the string is a little harder compared to the 66UM. I usually string it at 27lbs and let it sit for 3 days and strings are perfect. They last me close to 2 mths.

I find the AP62+ good to use and better than 66UM and NBG98 as well...more repulsive and seems to hold tension well :)

I have my n90s strung with ap62+ and bg66um at 26lbs separately. Found out that the tension after a month is 24.5lbs for ap62+ while 23lbs for bg66um. I use racquet tune for the results. I mostly play singles for my school team.

He's just extrapolating from previous measured frequencies at certain tensions. You can measure it with a smartphone app, CarlTune for Android, or ClearTune for iOS.

Fyi. AP62+ at 24x26 on TI10 feel even more harder than BG80P at 26x28 on NS990.

It not repulsive compare to BG66U at 23x25 on TI10.
AP62+ good for control especially at net. May be due to hard feel and less repulsive.

I would like to say BG80P and AP62+ like brothers.

Erm... not offense but what you are saying is contradictory to what all others are saying... They found AP62+ is more towards BG66UM rather than BG80P. Anyhow, that is your personal view on it. I will just have to try it out myself :p

No offence. I will let the string to loss some tension about 2 to 4 weeks. Hope will has better repulsive and clear. One thing for sure, this is hard string.

i haz 2 identical racquets strung with AP62+ and BG80P at the moment.... :) used them quite interchangeably...

the bg80P lost tension faster and more significantly than the AP62+...
feel wise, both has good repulsion, but the bg80P feels hard, and dull, whilst the AP62 is crisp, snappy and bright
