That's the problem with the education department,

they just want the honor should these two boys came back

with some good results in the ASEAN school competition.

This is good for the school but not the future of the boys.

Anyway, smart kids these two.

Get out of bjss then bam will bring them back.

Or bam wants KLRC to take them?

I bet my house on this

NEW PROGRAMME: 12-year plan with RM20m annual budget

THE BA of Malaysia (BAM) will embark on a highly ambitious 12-year strategic plan with a whopping RM20 million budget annually in an attempt to transform Malaysia into a badminton powerhouse again.

The long term programme, which involves three Olympic cycles, was announced by president Datuk Seri Nadzmi Salleh during BAM's annual general meeting (AGM) and council meeting in Kuala Lumpur yesterday.

Nadzmi is confident the programme will take off as planned despite the huge funding needed.

Nadzmi said BAM has decided to move away from the normal four-year programme which he felt was insufficient to change players into world beaters.

The new programme, to be finalised after the London Olympics, will give BAM sufficient time to unearth new talents and hone their skills.

"The programme will empower the states to play a bigger role in identifying and grooming talents as young as 10 and they have been asked to come up with feedback and suggestions," said Nadzmi.

BAM currently receives annual funding close to RM14 million from various sponsors and Nadzmi was confident more funds can be secured to ensure the long term programme materialises.

"We have to change the way we train our players and our entire approach if we want to be competitive on the world stage.

"The 12-year programme will enable us to find more players in the calibre of Lee Chong Wei and it requires an annual budget of more the RM20 million.

"We have some juniors coming up but we need to produce talents who can progress to world class.

"China and South Korea have grown from strength to strength and they were able to do it with huge funding and I am confident we can do it as well.

"The details of the programme and the mechanism will be finalised after the Olympics, based on feedback from the states and the parties involved.

"BAM secretary Ng Chin Chai added that the success of the programme will depend on quality manpower, especially coaches and a manager as well as the effectiveness of the states to identify young talents.

"We need to have quality people running the programme. We need quality coaches and a person to coordinate the programme. The coordinator can be a chief coach, high performance director or a full-time manager," said Chin Chai.

"Since there will be three Olympics cycles, we can even have three different managers but nothing has been finalised at the moment.

"The states will also have a programme where talents will be included in the programme when they are 10 and by 22, they will be turned into world beaters.

"Chin Chai said a two-day workshop would be conducted after the London Games where the finer details of the 12-year programme will be deliberated so that it can be launched early next year.

7 years
and only chan/goh qualified.
the rest is not from the project.
nevermind
rashid sidek,ng chin cai and nadzmi can relax until 2024 acording to this project,hehe

12 years extensions of looting opportunity. I have to give Nadzmi credit for one thing he said absolutely coorect and that is 'We need to have quality people running the programme'...so fire thermselves and please take the HPstooges along for the ride.

They still haven't identified the root cause (failure) yet for Malaysian badminton after all these while. They thought with huge fundings it would eventually bring them success. After all they still need the right people to manage and distribute the funds properly. Otherwise, I see this as another opportunity to grab more $$$ and another scandal in the making!

It is all about keeping focus and meeting the objective set. There is no room for politics and personal interest. Finding people with sound knowledge, dedication, sincerity and integrity to run the show is the main concern here. There are non-existent as far as the current BAM hierarchy is concerned.

We need characters in the mould of TS Elyas Omar, Moe Chin Kiat, Khoo Teng Yuen etc. to run the show. These were leaders with real dedication and are true-blue badminton enthusiasts. They dedicated their entire life for the sport. Not Nadzmi and his bunch of monkeys who always claim to have fantastic plans but zero realization. With them around we are doomed for failure.

The most prominent positive thing about BAM that is sticking out like a sore thumb is they have $$$. fullstop.

and as young as 10 yrs old?

What about the education ministry so called prestasi tinggi sukan .... ,

talent scouting for BjSS or rather physical and result scouting??

Yes, truly the money issue. All the money and funding from government was almost 80% go to those official and superior pocket. What do you expect from back up player in Malaysia? They already showed their best fight. In addition, do you know a serious racist discrimination issue in BAM? That's why a lot of back up player felt dissapointed and quit. Although I am strongly support Malaysia, but I truly feel sad about it.

My numero uno question would be: Are the officials really going there to support our players? Support, really? Or just on the pretext? Supporting our players?? Really??

Pretty sure the uncles and aunties already list what they want to buy (and what their relatives & friends ask them to buy things and bawa balik to Msia) places they want to take pictures at and when the Olympic's over, show off their pictures to everyone," This is the picture that we took at etc....do you know that the Londoners etc...."

Safe to say the so called council members will come back to Msia with their heads up high as if they the ones who competed in the Olympics....

i urge bam to send everyone include the toilet cleaner,canteen server to be there!
the ratio of officer : player should be 100 : 1

Hehe...there were 3 council members who turn down the trip. Can we try? The last ticket is between the toilet cleaner and canteen server.
