RESPONSIBLE: Accepts that he too has failed as CTC chairman

NG Chin Chai has accepted that he is also to blame for Malaysia's failure on the international stage in his capacity as the coaching and training committee (CTC) chairman and will relinquish the post at the BA of Malaysia's (BAM) annual general meeting and elections in July.
Chin Chai said it was only fair for the incoming president to name a new chairman rather than inheriting someone from the current administration.
However, Chin Chai will continue to be the BAM secretary if he is appointed again by the incoming president, who will replace Datuk Seri Nadzmi Salleh who will not be seeking reelection.

"I would like to apologise to all Malaysians on behalf of BAM and the players. We have failed to achieve several targets on the international stage over the last three years and I am partly responsible for Malaysia's failure," said Chin Chai.
The latest is Malaysia's failure to make the quarter-finals of the Sudirman Cup, no thanks to shock defeats to Taiwan and Germany in the group stage.

"There have been several targets that we failed to achieve.
"I have served for three years as the CTC chairman but I will not offer myself for the post under the new president.
"Emotions are high at the moment and there have been calls for changes but please bear with us as there will be a change in leadership as well as in the management team in July."
Chin Chai also said that BAM will ensure that players toe the line when it comes to discipline.
"The coaches have finally opened up and Koo Kien Keat-Tan Boon Heong's indiscipline was highlighted by them. I would like to stress that action will be taken against any player who flouts BAM's rules and regulations.
"The coaches only opened up and spoke about the players' indiscipline in the last CTC meeting (last month).
"Gambling is something that was raised and the players are barred from such activities during training and tournaments."

    Ng Chin Chai

    Limsy must be delighted.

I have respect for Ng chin chai... Very few Malaysian leader has the balls to admit own failures... Ng might has fail in badminton but he succeed as a man

Not trying to be naive here, other players are not that innocent, but I just couldn't come up with other pairs / players that have the luxury to 'gamble' away their money based on their ranking, performance, win ratio or whatnot which influence their tournaments' monetary gain and salary from BAM. Unless my fellow Malaysians know about other elite players that have the same problem?
    1) Rexy knew, brought it up with BAM. Rexy wanted to take action to discipline them. BAM didnt do anything concrete

    2) There were others, but as far as I know those 'others' already left BAM. Those remaining, like you said, dont have that kind of $$$ to go clubbing or gambling on regular basis

BAM have only themselves to blame - Park Joo Bong gone, Morton Frost gone, Rexy gone, the late Indra gone - these great coaches all had to leave. <shrug shoulders> the common factor is that they worked in BAM.

Doubt BAM can do anything during the players free time

unless they can hire a private eye.

Its all happening in every sports everywhere

only a question of how far they go.

Guess this time for ah koo and ah tan

its just too bad too far and there goes my hope

seeing them crowned a wc champion

Thanks for those who answered my questions

So I guess it took a humiliating group exit to make BAM address this serious, ongoing 'hush-hush' problem. IF MAS team did reach Sudirman Cup QF or SF (SF was BAM's target, yes?) this indiscipline would be ignored like before huh?

What a shame. Whatever step that BAM going to take next, I hope they would be sincere enough about it to tackle the problem. I look forward to Thai GPG next month and I hope for the best for MAS second tier players.

Bam just do not have the guts to field young pairs/ players and expose more of them in international tournament. Why still rely on koo/tan in the 1st match against taiwan? Gotta agree with Rajes Paul's recent comment at thestar. What will happen if malaysia field chong wei feng or liew darren? Will we be able to get a point from singles? Just look at Indonesia for example, in yesterday's crucial tie, they DARE to field their young pair angga and rian to play against OLYMPIC champion, cai and fu..imo, this is a good decision by INA and not do they settle a point for indonesia, they also gain a good experience for them.. I'm sure BAM knows the players attitude and lifestyle which is against an athlete's schedule. But why are they still not taking action and still giving them chance? Is BAM scare of the players???
What's next for BAM? I'm sure they will be relying HEAVILY on LCW's shoulders after this for the WC to cover up their a**. KoO/TAN for final?? Forget about it. IMO, i don't really know whether they can even clear the 1st or 2nd round hurdle..
BAM needs a major transformation! Let ONE person oversee the whole coaching system.

    CHINA- LI YONG BO
    INDONESIA - REXY MAINAKY
MALAYSIA- Who's next? or still remain the same person?

Yup, Coach Rashid was smiling during the interview, but it was a sheepish, embarrassed, 'this is humiliating, we just lost, oh man...' kind of smile

Well, in a way, I for one, sad but glad that our team lost because BAM certainly need a good, solid kick in the butt to take real, drastic action.

In Msia, management team is above coaching team. That's why so many good coaches left. The management want to implement things that not what the coaches think the players need. Real kick in the butt? I think politics play a role too...

You are certainly near to perfect100% correct!

    Remember the MS case?

    So called sports science people

who knew practically nothing about baddy

    keeps asking for reports

    whenever players lost in tournament

    including LCW

This will give you an idea of

    what's going on inside

this is how when those who dont know badminton(laywer, businessman) take control of sport.
they always talk about greater revenue(nadzmi) and healthier account(ng chin cai)
hello, this is sport,we talk about how many major titles and others achievement.
if u want to talk about financial,go and lead a business company or join real politic
    dont play in bam.
let see what will khairy do.

I think somebody will put somebody in nazmi seat this july

i dont even know his name but fat chance anything much is going to change.

NCC maybe a gentleman at the end of the day

to vacant his seat in the coaching and training committee.

at least he still say when i left, CW was still world no.1

This new president i doubt will be a baddy guy

but i dream he can do a total clean up

starting the state level where most of the president and committee

are covered with spider webs sitting too long doing too little but still talking a lot...

These are expired people that needs to go ...

Next, i dream he can wrestle with the ministry of education

to forego their involvement with sports.

Their so called fukit jalil sports training school

and their nation wide talents scouting program are real joke.

Training donkeys to run while those horses are left running around.

And some of this has been blown up in nst recently

whereby a dato son from down under was enrolled in fukit jalil ss

also, another one of this ministry prestasi tinggi ... something program,

wasting tax payers money getting teachers

with majority of them non badminton player taking up coaching course

and hijack good and talented players all over the state into this program.

Naturally it was a big big flop ... there goes my money

Not forget to mention the isn involvement so called sports science people science my head

This clean up even in my dreams are so long to write and i am running out of battery

so i will just keep on dreaming

Its not BAM that is totally at fault as most of you always think.

Its the system and our culture
