An invitation from HKBA? I think that's OK. Sparring practice with different players is good. HKBA have good training facilities including track and gym. I think it benefits both HKBA and BAM players. In the future, the reverse arrangement is possible.

It's away from the distraction of the reporters and 'home comforts'. Better than the beach training they used to have in the past.

    HK has no casinos

Nadzmi admits himself that his focus as a businessman took time away from micromanaging BAM and that after 12 years, he admits that the new management must concentrate on providing professional mental fortitude for not only pro players, but also for the Bukit Jalil juniors. Talent building from the grassroots level is also a must and be emphasize further upon. Also, he commented that when he first stepped in, BAM was in shambles, especially in the areas of funding, and now BAM manages turnover of 2million a year. On other matters, he said he was deeply touched when they recalled him back to attain his services even after he suffered a stroke 2 years ago.

Well, well.. Mr Businessman praises himself on the areas of - well generally a businessman. He said it himself, the sport itself needs more personnel who are really passionate and dedicated to the sport itself. In fact, in his own subconscious, he knows that what is good for the sport is people who play the sport, people who knows it in and out, and not businessman. Businessman, I praise you for bringing in the funds. But that's as far as I/we go. No more. And it is only after 12 years and the change of hands is about to fall through, only now, does he recommend to the new management coming in to concentrate in the areas of mental strength, of providing sport's psychologist who are really worth their salt. What happen to the one already in tenure during LCW's meteoric rise in the early years? Wasn't he conveniently let go? But the heart of the matter is, why now? Why now, after that you are leaving, now only the change has to start? Why after so long? I have seen you in the 'thinking man' pose a lot of times, especially after the team's miserable defeats at the international arena, as if you were scratching your head to think hard. Now that your are leaving, only you can utter the word 'MENTAL STRENGTH'? I don't know whether to clap or cry. As always, deflecting the people's demands and expectation for churning talents from grassroot levels, he adds in that his heart was touched by the fact that 'they' wanted him back even after he suffered a stroke. Who are 'they'? Those in cahoots for a different reason not in alignment with the sport's real direction of tangible talents? Yes!

Elsewhere, in yawn-yawn land, Rashid is commenting that LD is no threat and hence means, he can be taken lightly for the upcoming world championships. The 2008 Thomas Cup where LCW defeated LD in the finals was followed with LD's whipping of LCW like the whipping and taming of a lion, forced to eat humble pie, not that LCW did not try his best. Why is he telling that MAS can take LD lightly? After all, shouldn't we respect our opponents and it is often this mistake that jeopardizes the simplest of plans? I imagine when he said it, he was yawning as well.

Most of you may be surprised to learn that I have heard from a few reliable sources who commented that Nadzmi has been a good leader of BAM! He acknowledged his limitation as commented by the post from Pakito and indeed, if you look at the money he brought in, he has managed this aspect pretty well.

I know HK and Macau probably better than you do As a badminton fan, I'd rather see justified criticism that is constructive rather than covert insinuations. Humour is one thing but there is no need to dig a knife in unnecessarily.

I personally think it's a good link-up between HKBA and BAM in letting the MAS WC-bound players spar with the budding talents in HKBA.

Lee Chun Hei, in particular, will benefit from the sparring with Koo/Tan (no matter how bad they have fallen lately) and Chan/Goh.
