Hi this is my first post and i need some help, i would class myself as a good club player (mens & mixed) i have allways used rackets with either the factory string or whatever the person restringing it suggests, however i am about to buy a Voltric 7 from direct sports eshop and they give me the option of a free restring. i have no idea which one to pick! Go wild and pick whatever you want. Factory strings are, by default, not great. So any of those strings are going to be an improvement. Personally I would say that you can't go wrong with BG 80. As far as tension, that is very personal. What is the tension that your re-stringer has done for you in the past? Again, you can't go wrong with 22lb if you are used to factory strung (which is probably 18-20lb)
Good to see another forum member from Berkshire! Welcome to the forum. String tension is hard to judge, do you find the factory strings to feel soft when you hit a shot or do they feel fine? If you find it has a spongy feeling then string higher, say around 24lbs, if it is fine then string at around 22lbs (to allow for tension drop down to 18-20 lbs). As for string durability, I assume you meant bg66 ultimax? Don't buy that string if you want durability, it is very thin so breaks easily. Any of the others are fine, with bg65 ti being the string that is found on factory strung rackets. Nanogy 98 and bg68 ti might be slightly less durable than the others but not by much and bg 65 ti will be the most durable. Hope that helps.
thanks for the replys, Berkshire? im from basingstoke. looks like tension 22lbs, i looked at yonex string specifcation thread and it looks like the Nanology 98 is good, is there any difference between this and 98 Gold
