This is a question for all the Pro's. What's the best string in the market that has got repulsion and helps to clear the shuttle? Any manufacturer would do.
I am not a pro but BG66Ultimax is great for repulsion, Zymax62 and AccuPower 62 also have great repulsion.
I would be more concerned about your technique rather than which string gives you the most repulsion. Your tension can also affect how much repulsion you have.
I agree. Technically speaking the "best repulsion" string setup "ever" is using the thinnest strings (ZM62 for example) at very low tensions of 20lbs or below. But the problem is a lazy high clear with no technique put in at all will still only go at most 3/4 court and the string will break within a few minutes of play due to mishits I DARE ALL those who are having the same question and thought (i.e. "I have no technique so I want to get the best out of my equipment and have them play the game for me as I think that is the best way for me") as the Opening Poster to try the setup I suggested. Warning is you MUST BE RICH to sustain such play style though!
BG66 Ultimax is a good string !! for people who like to smash but about a month later the tension will start to loosen
no need a month. I replace the string every month because it snapped! being using BG66UM for 3 month already. my tension is 27lbs.
is the tension reasonable for you now? contracting and expanding. I went to Galasports in Queensway really annoying I asked the guy to string 24lbs it doesn't feel like 24lbs ! it feels much less. now I have to spend more money to get my racket restrung !
Yea...different ppl string the same tension feels differently....so far queensway tension seems to be on the softer side, i've tried Newlink and Gala, both felt softer....10&10 at Bras Basah is tighter....
offtopic but...how much does zymax 62 costs? i saw 1 at rm25 (8USD)? i was suprised because it was so cheap ...and i heard from my friend that it is fake ...
1) yonex bg66 2) yonex bg80 3) yonex bg85 4) ashaway pg66 5) ashaway microlegend any of the strings above will give you significant repulsion and control.
With strings I have tested I think : 1. BG66UM (Personally my favourite strings to use) 2. BG66 3. BG80 (currently using it) 4. BG65 (I put this in for fun)
Contrary to some of the comments, from my experience Yonex BG66UM and BG66 are not that repulsive. Currently using Fleet 63Ti at 25lbs, very repulsive and easy to clear. Any brand with equivalent thin strings of 0.63mm, 0.62mm will have the same impact. Only RM 18 with stringing services. Just don't expect the strings to last long, so far mine is holding steady after 5 hours of use.
Yonex BG80 i am not a PRO. i am a stringer only on badminton racquets. As i know that Yonex BG80 is the 'best' in the market now. Coarse string, high repulsion and hard feeling. hard feeling is that when u hit the shuttle you can feel contact on the string and the shuttle flies. Tension is anyones' guess. Most of my customers stay around 23 n 24 lbs. i hope this answers your question Regards Keng
