    Hi everyone,

I'm going to be staying at the Columns on Ayala Ave in Makati from June 14 to July 2, my Tagalog is very very poor, my badminton skills are at low-mid D level here stateside.

Want to know if anyone would like to play with me, and where is a good place to play?

Or alternatively, who is a good coach in the area, I'd love one-on-one sessions daily or every other day?

One last question, any good badminton shops? I cannot bring my home stringer, but I have plenty of string, so where to buy stringing machines?

    Salamat po (thanks very much)

Toby's sports and Chris sports both offer stringing services. You can find them on most malls. You can inquiry to find out if they sell those machines too.

Thanks for the info, I'll probably drop by Chris Sports at Glorietta. Do you know how much their labor charge is if I provide my own string?

Shops usually give discount on labor when you buy string from them, so probably 100-150 pesos. Thanks again!

If you're staying at Columns, the closest badminton court would be The Zone - about a 3 to 5 minute walk. I play there rather often, low D level. You're welcome to play.

They also have a very good stringer, but his machine is old so your racket may get a few marks after stringing. I pay 75 pesos for dual tension, my string. If you're planning to buy a stringing machine here, they're quite expensive.

There are a few coaches at The Zone. Just ask reception. Any one of them will be happy to help lighten your pockets. :D

Thanks ixoye, that will probably be my first choice. Is it doubles or singles over there?

Also, have you tried any of the coaches there?

I've played a game or 2 with 1 or 2 of them and got a few good tips.

Games are generally doubles, but we do play singles sometimes.
