    The Sunrise holographic sticker on the cone is genuine without doubt. You can compare it with the ones your genuine Yonex racquets if you're unconvinced.

    There is a lot of discussion about poor Quality and the paint on VTs (check out http://www.badmintoncentral.com/foru...ONEX-paint-job for example). So this may be a reasonable explanation to paint chips and scratches even on the cone..

    My guess is just that YY cuts corners to increase profits, just as with the fatter frame "tri-voltric" parts to not have to use more expensive materials. Maybe to cheap materials overall?

    There's a possibility the racket were stored in a hot area (i.e. car / car boot under the sun) for a couple of hours right before playing time, without sufficient time to allow to cool down. This exact breakage happened to my a friend before.

    i was thinking the same thing, in the cold climate where i play any racket left in the car boot while at work is prone to this. Ive seen many rackets die off this same way. Looking at the photos must have made one helluvah noise!!
