England will bore their way past Italy for a WC rematch with Germany. Remember the Lampard goal that crossed the goal line and did not count? Ironies of ironies, they came out on the good side of a bad goal line decision yesterday.

portugal might just prove the doubters (poor c. ronaldo, he has to do all the heavy lifting as if it's not a team sports) wrong. spain is right on track with torres' engine rolling at full speed. lampard, the lion of england might just pull it off.

    ...germany wins this.

    Miroslav Klose scores yet again!
Joachim Löw must field him yet again in 2014 to break the other Ronaldo's record.

Surely you didn't think that I had mixed the World Cup up with the Euro ?
Anyway, the recent goal just shows that his services are still of much value, even at the ripe old age of 34.
Miroslav is truly a fox in the box, and more.
The 14 goals scored is just phenomenal. If only he has the opportunity to add another 2 more in Brazil. Probably a new record that may last half a century?
Joachim, are you reading this ?

Hehe, the errors being: the "other Ronaldo" (there is only 1 Ronaldo ) and that the record should be broken (by a player like Klose) is #2 ...

I really mean the other Ronaldo, lol. The one who had a tuft for his hair. The image that came to my mind after the Denmark-Holland match .

As for the Klose one, I beg to differ.
But I must say that there is a little lack of objectivity, after winning some quid in Germany's 8-0 thrashing Saudi Arabia in 2002, partly thanks to his hat-trick.

Here is one from the legend, at 1:07.

It you prefer a more realistic version, the actual Argentina-West Germany final in 1986 was rather exciting. Can't say much for its resolution though.

That is the only Ronaldo. CR7 should have gone with Christiano as his footballing name . Thought this particular coup suits Balotelli quite well in his commercial

Klose has zero appeal but indeed a prolific goalscorer. I don't think anyone will remember anything miraculous, spectaculous, ridaculous when they see "Klose" on the top of the list ... Just watched a very first highlight reel and he might be textbook perfect but no fantasy novel .

Enger-land, Enger-land, Enger-land ... wow . Milner is not a shadow of his former self at Leeds and Newcastle, he's more of a Kuyt clone these days ... Could've really used Wilshere imo (or Lampard I suppose), unlucky he(they) got injured ...

Ingar-lund, Ingar-land, Ingar-land. James, James (Milner) what gives?

    Closing in on Klose...

CR7 vs FT9? Easy, I'll go with the higher number.

Yup, agreed. For a while I had thought you were referring to CR .
Maybe the Ronaldos are distantly related? Brazil had after all been a Portugese colony.
It was really funny seeing Eusébio and Figo sitting together looking very tense.

The Klose of today is no longer half the man he used to be.
You'll know how it feels like when you get there. When the knees start knocking together .
I'm still trying to recover from playing in a soccer match last week.
Been sleeping a lot, and stoning most of the time, lol.

Yet another boring match last evening.
They need some South American opponents to give the defenders a real workout.

Hate the PKs. Poor CR7, another so close yet so far away moment.

    Bring on the Eye-talians.
