Default Chinese men outperfrom Chinese women now

It was not uncommon to see Chinese women outperforming Chinese men.

But now more and more often, I found out that Chinese men are outperforming Chinese ladies.

In Thomas - Uber cups, Chinese men won the Thomas cup easily, while Chinse women lost their 5 year long Uber cup.

In Sudirman cup, Chinese mens singles invincible, won 5 matches, mens doubles won 4 times, while Chinese women singles won only 2 times, and women double 2 times. What a difference!

At this Singapore open, now, Chinese mens singles have 4 left in QF, mens doubles have 3. While womens singles 3 and womens doubles only 1 left in the QF.

At least, I think it's fair to say, Chinese men perform more consistant than Chinese women now. Anyone disagree? thanks for your comments

women double did not lost either. They did not have chance to play 4 times.

That's because Wang lin has to play with her teammate. If LD play CJ, then one of them will not enter quarter final.

Wang Lin is injured . I think she should be the best WS player.

The Chinese ladies are not at full strength here. Wang Xiaoli , Yu Yang, Jiang Yanjiao, Liu Xin, Li Xuerui missing. I agree however that their women doubles are weaker overall- besides wang / yu, all their combinations look vulnerable.

    .
    I agree.

At this 2011 Singapore Open SS, most of the top Chinese men players are there; but not most of the top Chinese women players (as pointed out by you).

IMHO, currently, the Chinese women are still outperforming the Chinese men. Just by looking at the World Ranking Lists, we can confirm it.

It's just because there is a Super Dan. None of the Wang ladies can be called a Super Wang yet. If you take away Super Dan, what's left in Chinese Men team?

without Super Dan, Chinese mens are still strong. They have Chen Jin and WZM in the semi while the whole world rest only got PG. BTW, Chen Long won the Thailand open. On double sides, they also have 2 teams in the semi which outperform all the other countries too. Without Super Dan, I am sure China still win the Thomas cup and Sudirman easily.

If you take away LD they still have the world champion and 4/5 other top 20 players.

Japan's women have come on alot (as have their men)

I think its easier for a country to catch up in the women's events, there are less women players on the circuit and they can get their men to spar with the women providing tough opposition.

They can be called superwangteam. They should have won more championships than superdan.

I would agree only when the Chinese team has a more stronger men doubles than women doubles as I hardly see a solid men pair in the past decades when compare with their supremacy other disciplines.

I think you forgot LCW. I don't remember Chen Jin and WZM won any tournaments yet this year (I may be wrong). Chen Long just lost to an semi-retired LHI. I don't think Chen Jin, WZM and BCL can beat LCW at this moment. CY/FHF are over the hill, but the other MDs are not up to their level yet. Denmark, Korea and Malaysia are all capable to get 2 MD points from China. They may still win Thomas Cup, but very vulnerable.

what you talked about was your thinking. what i was talking about was the facts for the tournaments last week in Thailand, and now in Singapore. I knew lots of people sharing your thought that Chinese men's team nothing if LD excluded. But just checking this Singapore open, now even LD excluded, top final 3 ms are WZM, Chen Jin and Peter Gade. and in final 4 for men's doubles, there are FHF/CY, GZD/CB. They are not only the strongest among all nations, but also better than Chinese womens. I didn't forget LCW who skipped this SO, one person wouldn't change much, he will be tested next week.

From the rest of the world, two 30's yr old and one early 20's, and CHN WS have 4 Wangs, 1 Jiang, 2 Li, 1 Lu, and who knows how many more...actually the real stumbling block is the quota that limit the number of CHN WS from participating in AG, OLY and WC
