    Super BIG MATCH is absolutely Tontowi Ahmad/Lilyana Natsir vs Zhang Nan/Zhao Yunlei. Despite in 2 previous meetings Towi/Butet lost, both meeting they lost tightly in 3 sets, even in last meeting Towi/Butet have 3 match point but they threw it away.

    Now its time to revenge!

    2011 Singapore Open SS: Watch out for TA/LN & Alvent/Hendra

    .
    TA/LN were quite impressive at this tournament. Let's have a look at how they arrive at the Semi-Finals;

    Round 1: Defeated Qiu Zihan/Bao Yixin 21-13,21-12 in 27 mins.
    Round 2: Defeated Xu Chen/Ma Jin 21-14, 21-10 in 29 mins.
    Quarter-Finals: Defeated Lee Yong Dae/Ha Jung Eun 21-14, 21-16 in 31 mins.

    All matches were quick and short. They are in top form this week.

    Alvent/Hendra were just as impressive, winning all their matches in rather quick time too;

    Round 1: Defeated Fang Chieh Min/Lee Sheng Mu [5] 21-13, 21-16 in 28 mins.
    Round 2: Defeated Chen Hung Ling/Lin Yu Lang 21-11,21-19 in 28 mins.
    Quarter-Finals: Defeated Hirokatsu Hashimoto/Noriyasu Hirata 21-17,21-18 in 36 mins.

    IMHO, TA/LN and Alvent/Hendra should be hard to beat at the Semi-Finals.

    Tomorrow's line-up on court one is exciting except WD but since it is KOR & JPN cuties, I guess it's alright.
    Hoping for an upset from Aunt Yao Jie.

    BWF launch official live streaming badminton channel on Youtube

    .
    Just found out that BWF has launched an official live streaming badminton channel on Youtube yesterday (Friday 17-June-2011).

    Source: http://bwfbadminton.org/news_item.aspx?id=50130

    Friday, June 17, 2011 - Badminton World Federation

    The Badminton World Federation (BWF) is pleased to announce the soft-launch of its official badminton live streaming and Video-on-Demand (VOD) channel.

    The online channel, http://badmintonworld.tv, hosted on Youtube, the world’s largest video community and hosting platform, is the product of a partnership between the BWF and Google that was facilitated under the advisory of TotalSportsAsia.

    The on-going 2011 Li-Ning Singapore Open will be the first event to be streamed live.

    Beginning from the quarterfinals day (Friday) through to the finals on Sunday, 19 June, 2011, the official online channel will offer ardent badminton fans all over the world free online streaming of at least 5 matches a day (geo-blocking will apply to local viewers).

    This unique cutting-edge initiative will be extended throughout the entire OSIM BWF World Superseries calendar, which runs annually from January to December.

    Online streaming for the 5 Premier Superseries will begin from the round of 16 matches, while the remaining 7 legs of the Superseries will showcase TV-court matches from the quarterfinals day to the finals. At least 5 matches will be streamed on each day.

    "This is another initiative from the BWF to reach out to more fans across all continents," said BWF president Dr Kang Young Joong. "This is also in line with the BWF's aim to use different media platforms to raise the profile of the sport and the players."

    In its impending full launch, the official online channel will eventually offer badminton fans a greater variety of content and matches from tournaments across the globe.

    "The BWF is excited with what the future holds for the sport and will continue to look into ways and means to enhance the visibility of the sport,” concluded Dr Kang.

    That's what they said when she faced 1) SJH then 2) BYJ then 3) WYH

    Our dear Auntie YJ is truly defying time. But unfortunately I think her time's up and WX is going to be bullying her all over the court.

    It's been fun and I will still be praying for more AUNTIE POWER!

    My predictions :

    WS : Yao Jie to continue giant killing spree

    WD : Qing Tian and Zhao Yunlei should be the favourite since the no 1 rank Japanese WD is out

    MD : Jung/Lee to meet Alvent/Hendra again and Jung/Lee is the favourite to win the title given their current form
