    Hi everybody,

I'm from Canada(QC, so excuse my english), and this week-end its the national championship. There is a little place for company and yonex is there to promote two new demo raquet. They have the Armortec 700 which is red and grey, and they have the new armortec 500, which i've never see or heard before. She is bleu and gray.

Have you ever see them? The guy who represent yonex told me that the 700 was 80g, but all the weight was in the head. Head heavy balance. I take the 700 and she was really light but a little heavy in the head...

    That's it....

So have you heard about the blue ARMORTEC 500 by yonex ?

    Mat

Hello there... welcome to our board. If you click on the search button/icon
near the top of the page and search for 'Armortec', you'll find that it's been
discussed at length in another thread. However, most of the discussion
pertains to Armortec 700. Do you have any information to share regarding
    Armortec 500?

Does that mean you bought the 700 version? if so what do you think about it?
power, control, stiffness, feel, weight, smashes, clears, drops, netshots, drives?

    Re: Re: Armortec...500!

He/She said that they were only demo racquets.
So I don't think he/she could have bought one....

    When he/she said "take", I think he/she meant "held"...

    And read the post!...
He/She said that YOU should excuse his/her english....:p

Info on the Armortech 500 is in the other thread. The samples the rep has in Quebec are the only set in Canada right now. The raquets will be in Canada for sale in late June, hopefully.

    armortec...500! (part II)

    Hi everyone

I will try to do better with my english...

Like the Armortec 700, the 500 is very light but head heavy balanced too. The guy who was there for Yonex tell me that the 500 will be around 200$ and the 700 around 250 and more on the market.

For the 500, she was blue like as said, and its the same color of the last Ti-3 approximatly.

The flexibility was quite the same between the 700 and the 500 for me, but i thing there was a small difference for the weight. The armortec is about 80g , and maybe the 500 is 83 or 85g...

"The samples the rep has in Quebec are the only set in Canada right now" Yess it's true, they are very new stock for Yonex Canada, that was an excusivity for the canada to have these 2 raquets for this championship. The man told me that new raquets and shoes will be here in canada late June, or beginnig of July in the stores!

Cheung, i've take the 700 and the 500 in my hand and the difference was really small for my opinion. But the sound when I hit de string on my hands was really interesting !!!

Hope to play with one very soon...

    Mat

For the one who want to know... i'm a man (so use "HE") to reply lol

    :) :) :)

    Re: armortec...500! (part II)

Actually the weight for the sample armortec that the Yonex guy gave you isn't the weight for all armortecs.
You said the 700 was 80g, that was probally a 4u version. YOu also stated that the 500 was 83 or 85, that was probally a 3u version.
the 4u version is 80-84 grams, 3u is 85-89 grams
They have both versions for the 700 series and 500 series.

What was the flexibility of the 700?
did you get to use it or just hold it?

Just hold it, and it was only a demo so we couldn't test it or play with shuttles...

Yessss. it's probably true for the 4u or the 3u version, but in my feelings, the 500 was a little bit heavier than the 700...

    That's only my opinion

matriver, thanks for your observations on the armortech 500. please
let us know if and when you find out more.

eggroll, i'm aware of that but i'm looking for more user inputs than
just the marketing specs (which you already provided and thx, btw).

ti-sp-ss dude, with due respect, you are potentially off-topic. this
    thread is titled 'armortec 500'.

I'm optimistic that I will be able to provide a complete review on both raquets in one week or so and have feedback from a variety of players.

    Armortec 700 issue
well, MATriver was also refering to the 700 and comparing it to the 500, and since most of the discussion in the 700 thread is about frame material, i thought i would be ok to put it here.
Sorry for being off topic: :p

Coz, she is one cool lady... :D :D

That's just the French way of referring to objects (he and she for certain type of objects) just like we still do with ships (being refer to as she).
