Hey, I was just wondering what the activity level (# of players / skill level) at Bintang Campbell or Sunnyvale around 6 PM or early night (before 8 PM) is? Empty courts? Do most players already have set groups they play with? I'm an intermediate player (college student) who is looking to start playing @ Bintang in mid-July. I was thinking of going weekdays after work (~6 PM), but was wondering if it'd be easy to find people at that time looking to play doubles with someone who is going to Bintang for their first time. I assume on weekdays there would be more people after 8 PM? --- Also, I was just wondering what the court usage policy is. I assume if the courts are all in use they'd only be used for games, but if there are empty courts, could two people (neither coaches) use half a court to practice/drill by themselves?
Oh, and if any intermediate or advanced players would be interested in forming a semi-regular group for ~6 PM on weekdays at either Campbell or Sunnyvale, let me know!
I think they are already have their own club, I went to the BCC3 for 2 time, and it kind of hard to find a partner. But like to join in a group to, after work hrs.
for Campbell, the best days for upper intermediate/advance group is definitely Mon/Wed. there are lots of people to play against in the challenge court, but only in challenge courts. just be thick skin and ask to find someone to play with if you don't have a partner. the good thing about Campbell is that the crowd there are usually pretty friendly and will play with anyone. i never have problem finding someone to play with when i am there. BBC crowd tend to be a bit cliquey and only play with their own friends. i go there quite regularly on either M/T/W/Th, but i am the late crowd arriving after 8+pm.
Yes, I was. I met some one and ask them to join. It is so crowded @.@ the whole courts is full until 11:30. Just got home from it )
hi blueofkay, i am not sure if i can go tonight. i have to take someone to the airport. i will drop by if i have time left. are you for sure going?
i will be there tonight too! look for nerdy looking skinny chinese guy with glasses with short hair!! oh wait... just look for kwun.
I just moved to Santa Clara and I am looking for some upper intermediate/advance players to play with around this area.
Santa Clara you can go to Bintang Campbell. Mon/Wed has good players in the challenge court. or go to Royal Badminton Academy in Menlo Park. Tuesday has very good advanced players in the challenge court.
! it turned out wong_ks lives very close to me so we went to the Royal Badminton challenge court tonight to whack some birdies. after a shaky start losing our first 2 games, we won at least 5 consecutive games (lost count already...) to a great evening of badminton! let's do it again next week!
