    Image quality and cost

You do not want to copy/record any of your fouvarite video in LP or EP mode(that's 4hr and 6 hr) as the image quality can deteroriate very rapidly. I understand some money can be saved but it's just not worth it.
Sorry I can't be that generous to share the tapes for free as it costs a lot to ship them from Malaysia and convert into NTSC format($20/tape conversion fees ;-)).
    Take care!
    Han

    cost is not key.

well, if you put it that way, where do others like StanBishof get their videos from? I am sure it costs them money too. And they even go the extra step as to encode and post them for download. You're saying that you're just much cheaper than stan and the others? I am sorry to hear that. But thanks for considering anyways.

    Re: Image quality and cost

Meybe he meant tapes that can last for 4 hours in SP mode. Do you ship to Singapore? You ship the tapes from Malaysia?? Hmmm..... who's that person? :D

Anyway, I also do have alot of tapes from 2000-2003, but have not found time to convert them all to VCDs. Will be converting some to mpegs and putting on the net. ;)

    Video format

You're right, NTSC does not rule the world, PAL still dominates most of the video format use in this world. My video source is in PAL format(Malaysia/Singapore import) and actually it's cheaper to sell to PAL format countries listed by you(you're very knowledgable about countries's video format) as there is no need to convert them into NTSC, you just need 2 PAL VCRs and PAL vhs tapes.
I have turned away customers from Australia and UK for same reason perhaps Modious from Singapore can take care the PAL countries?

    Re: Video format

No, I don't intend to start a business to sell my tapes. I don't have the equipment to duplicate tapes. I also do not have so much time to convert all to VCDs at the moment!

Anyway, I'm interested to know who you got your tapes from because I may want some tapes that I don't have... since you're not selling PAL....

in case anyone is interested there is a recorder on sale in Msia for RM 2000

which can record from Tv to cd as well as convert vhs to vcd.

    Go to www.duraplus.com

I think it is not possible to send anything into Singapore, friends there tell me

the censorship board will confiscate it.

    expensive machine

RM2000 is more than $500 USD, wow, how many VCDs you have sell to gain back your investment? I think DVD recorder make more sense as it has higher resolution and capacity than VCD, wait for couple of years for the DVD disk to be more affordable. The current Panasonic DVD recorder runs more than one thousand dollar.

I have just completed a new badminton video listing from 1998-2003 divided into 5 events and each event has players names and video runtime. Write me at han_cheong@yahoo.com if you're interested so I can send you a copy.
    Thanks!

    BBN

FYI, I received 5 badminton CDs from Australia 2 weeks ago. There was no problems or procedures required, the postman delivered straight to my house!

It took 6 days to get it from Australia to S'pore.

Seems like your friends are wrong....

Send me a pm Modius and tell me what you are missing. 1/2 tapes given away

won't hurt me. I am particularly keen on giving out some of the classic stuff

featuring Wong Peng soon, Ong Poh Lim or even Liem swie Kinh in 1980 as I

don't think these videos will survive me.
