I stumbled upon this while browsing Ebay, something the seller refers to as "Class G" Genuine Yonex rackets - http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=170662770018#ht_10044wt_894 Anyone have any insight as to whether this to phooey, or whether these actually are some form of 'factory seconds'??
it's fake, sometimes these eBay sellers put this kind of stuff in their description to make people believe they are buying the real thing. Luckily we are well informed. others aren't so lucky.Notice how they put: "Racket cannot be identified by SN Number" because they know that people can tell it is fake by posting the number for legitamacy. It's like on Newaystore.com they are advertising some rackets, as "Class A" it's just a fake that makes some less informed people think they are buying the genuine thing.
It's just terrible that people will stoop that low just to make a buck. I'm all for getting a hot deal - especially because there are only so many actual racket manufacturers, and many rackets that upon a bit of investigation clearly come from the same factory yet are much more affordable - but this is pretty dodgy. Thanks for the info.
The big.show store rates their rackets as B,A and G. I purchased some B and A class rackets previously just out of courosity and there are noticible differences in their construction and feel. I wouldn't pay a high dollar amount on their G class stuff since there is no warranty available for them but the store seems pretty truthful in rating their "fake" rackets. Oh and the Class A nanospeed 9900 is almost identical to a real nanospeed 9900 after putting them on a scale and checking balance points so I was pretty happy I only spent 80 bux.. The B class rackets have a very small screw holding the handle and shaft while the A has a larger screw. I won't buy any more Yonex stuff off ebay though.
Ummm I mean at least for the ones I bought he states they are B or A grade and not original.. it's pretty descriptive on how they would play etc.. not like some places that would sell a B grade racket for 80 dollars.
I'm just a bit sensitive about 'cloning', which is a euphamism for 'theft'. Being 'truthful' about your theft doesn't exactly make it okay, and neither is claiming that the 'embryo' came out of the Yonex factory, was then painted in China with Yonex-like livery, adorned with fake Yonex serial codes, but yet somehow is still a 'genuine' racket.
The one I have is pretty close but you can still tell it's fake looking at the cap and stuff.. I've given it away to my brother since I started using Apacs stuff. I only bought the knock offs just for sh*ts and giggles and won't be doing it again and don't condone purchasing of a fake.
The racket I had felt okay but because of the small screw used to secure the shaft to handle is so small I would not recommend playing at an intense level. I have seen the racket fly off the handle so I don't use it and gave it away to my brother. He doesn't use it now either.
