    Default Danish badminton...

A couple of persons have complained that there isn't enough information about danish badminton in english. I have followed up on this and sent an email to the official site for the Danish Badminton Association, today I received a reply from Brian Moesgaard himself!
I have translated the following to the best of my abilities from his reply:

"What we think might be of interest to a foreign audience is our big events. If you look at www.badminton.dk you will see that these pages are always in english as well as danish. Just now you can find Realkredit Denmark Open with ordering of tickets etc. It isn't until the start of the tournament though that other countries show interest, and it is especially online score they view. Naturally some of our closest neighboring countries buy tickets via the Internet but none from Asia.

What information is it you think will interest the asian audience? Our research show it is our big tournaments (which already are there) and player profiles of Peter, Camilla and a few others, which already can be found on IBF homepage and I don't think we can do them any better."

Well here's your chance to tell me what you would like in english. I will then send the replies to Moesgaard.
I am not sure if they will change anything on their site, but it's worth a try!

I think they should have their news bulletins in English. I always read them (I'm Swedish) before and after big tournaments to get "the Danish perspective" which often differs from what you gather from other (mainly Asian) sites with badminton news. I like the fact that Danish players and coaches seem to be very outspoken and often speak their minds freely.

Along the lines that Mag suggested, it would be interesting to read interviews of the players and coaches, and any articles that appear in Danish newspapers about badminton.

yes. all news, interviews, rumors, any info.

in general, the Danish badminton team is pretty much a mystery to outsiders. we only see the players in action, beyond that, we get occasional little amount of news and tidbits, not anywhere near enough to satisfy the curiosity of the badminton fan around the world, we are eager to know more!

Also, what Kwun was implying, but not quite expressly requesting, was more photos of Camilla.

Maybe they can have 2 different message boards /bulletins like

China site, one for their home fans and another outsiders.

    Default Asian sites

A bit off topic, but can someone post the official homepages of some of the asian badminton associations. I haven't had any luck finding them...

It's still not too late to post suggestions for the Danish Badminton Associations homepage. Tomorrow morning (that's in about 21 hours when i post this) I will send all the replies to Mr Moesgaard.

    Johnny,

AFAIK, only China keeps a website. the Chinese section is excellent, while the English section hasn't been updated for years.

others may know about other BAs.

we managed to get a lot of local badminton news from a couple of Malaysian and Indonesian online papers. you can get to them from the front of BadmintonCentral.

Does Denmark's BA market video footage of their players like

BA of England to followers? If they do I'm unaware, there are

many people in Asia who not only want to see current players

but also those from a past era before age of video.

I have gotten Brian Moesgaard's reply:

"Thanks for your email. I will take a closer look at it all primo August. Just now we are entering the holiday season. But I will get back to you so you know we are serious about this, and you do have some good points. The question is, do we have the resources....
I will get back to you and thanks for your interest!"

I would like to thank you all for your input, and needless to say I will let you know if anything new happens.

    Cheers!
