    Default Score upsets!

Yahhh!! See even with this kind of draw, upsets do happen! I cannot believe Lauren Todt lost her singles match! Whose the girl who beat her? I don't know if she's played in GG before.

And I'm REALLY upset that Mike Yang and Chris Hales lost their match to Jinadasa as well! Poor Mike must be sooo tired from months of preparation and Chris with his sore back problem... Oh.. poor. But I hear they are playing their consolation now so I hope they will win that one!

Thuy Hoang from OCBC. Not sure if she's played at GGBC before but I think we'll remember her now.

Thanks kwun (here and those great pictures).

Anyone has the result of the Howard vs. Arnold match which supposed to have played this morning. That is a good one. Game result plus any commentary (if any) would be great appreciated.

All that fuss for nothing. Some people are just being silly

Too bad to see Ms Lauren lost . I hope she wasn't on BC reading about people complaining about her draw and had that troubled her

But look at it from the brighter side, I hope this mean US badminton is getting stronger with more good young players

Nothing against Gouw/Yeh, but surprising to see Bach losing in the XD first round!

just got back from watching, ill briefly recount some of the matches i saw:

    MS:
howard bach beat arnold setiadi pretty badly (straight sets, both around 21-10)

nick jinadasa beat chris hale (they split, but i dont remember the scores)

raju rai won fairly comfortably (straight sets, the scores were close, but i dont think raju was really exerting himself)

and Bob Malaythong won, but i didnt really watch that game

    MD:

    howard/bob owned pretty hard...

chandra/daniel had a very close win over howard/raju (extremely exciting/tense)
chandra/daniel lost the first set but won the second two sets win very close scores

    MX:

didn't see a lot, except that arnold/daphne lost their match

I don't know how to get those boxes of quotes from other comments then write under them!

I hope this finally exemplifies that draws do not conduct results. It's the players and how they play that do, as well as how they tackle their opponents. If draws are tougher, then it could be more challenging, what do you guys think? Haven't we seen this happen at several major competitions most notably Lin Dan at the last Olympics? As the favorite for Gold Medalist, he did lose in the first round, but that didn't mean he wasn't a superb athelete.

Ms. Lauren is a consummate professional. I've chatted with her a few times at her competes in GG and no matter win or lose, she always tries her best and has a great attitude. She loves to eat and chat about fashion just like us normal "D" players!

It's great to see how each tournament is important to them and they all give their best to WIN!

Daniel trains so hard and diligently with Chandra at GGBC any chance he gets. He's really got the fire in him going! Good going for Dan and Yeh! Does he have to play against Chandra and Mona now?

Congrats to all the winners so far!! Oooo.. wish I was there!!! How exciting that Chandra and Daniel WON over Howard and Raju! They try SO hard. But how can Howard and Bob play, then Howard and Raju play Men's Doubles? I wonder if anyone video taped that game!! I will ask our staff!
