No, i saw the blue string packet, it says BG 9
I also saw BG6 in the same shop where i bought BG9 (Perfect Sports, KL)
    I think BG6 plays like BG65? It's durable that's all i know..
Funny how no one has heard of BG 9??

BG6 is the same thing as BG66 but is made in China.

The prototype auspic strings ( 0.66mm ) lasted me two months, even though I did not use it that much. Only once or twice a week, at 26lbs on my AT700. Going to try nbg95 at 28lbs next.

My Bg-65 at 24lbs last 1-2 months. I notice that towards the middle of the 2nd month, the strings at the centre of my racket are really cutting deeply into each other, and then it breaks =(

wow,BG65 only lasts 1 to 2 months for you huh?Mine seem to last forever.
Is it because of the bad stringing service?

I don't think so. My rackets have both been strung by two different stringers and they still last that length of time. 24lbs isn't that much either I don't think. But my rackets alway break in the centre. I'm taking it as a sign that I hit in the middle, which is good I think.

agreed. Should also consider three more factors:

    1. the humidity in the court. My string often broke during winter time here (about -20 C outside), when it's super dry inside the gym.

    2. the heat / cool cycle the racket has gone through.

    3. who is playing. My friend and I are using the same racket model, the same string, and even the same tension, but I broke much less often than my friend.

I guess you must have miss hit it. so sad it has only been use for 3 sessions. I've strung natural gut on my apacs nano 900 for 2.5 weeks it still intact. Hope it will last longer'''' Or it might be the stringer that string your racket that he didn't do a good job..Or it might not be your day....
Its better to try natural gut the next time Bro....

From personal experience adding 5 u-shaped grommets on the top of the frame and 6 u-shaped grommets at the bottom of the frame increases durability of the string. I had both rackets strung with NBG98 at 28lbs and the racket without u-shaped grommets snapped in 2 months while the racket with u-shaped grommets which is 3.5 months already and the string hasn't snapped yet.

I hope this information helps people here.

With Ashaway Micro Power (@23lbs) I can only play 2 games, and then it's over.
    With BG65 (@23lbs) I play about 2 months and then it's over.

At 23lbs it only lasted 2 games? That is crazy...

I string bg66 at the same tension as you and that is a norm for me, 2-3 days and its gone. Bg66 has way too little durability if you are a hard hitter playing at 27lbs or above.

Luckily fast broken string doesn't necessary translate into better player else I will be way below average as I can't seem to break my string even after 6 months :crying: Need to use BG66 to boast my confident:D

Getting back to my former play level of 20 years ago, slowly: after 3 weeks (3x week, 3 hours per) decided to put my MP 21 into reserve service and started using AT 250. Basically, love the AT all over. But, after a month smashed out the factory string job. Sooo.. restrung with BG 65 @ 23lbs and had a go last night. What happened to my beloved 250?!!! I lost 50% control, 25% power! I admit it wasn't my best night and will get a chance at redemption on Thurs. I have BG 80 coming soon... any opinions out there on the BG 80 and tension? I'm 80% technical but rely on power quite often too.

So, I'm getting back up to speed fairly quickly after 20 years + :rolleyes:and decided to put my outgrown MP 21 into reserve service after picking up an AT 250. Basically, love the 250 all over:). But after 4 weeks (3 x week, @ 100 minutes per) smashed out the factory string job. Restrung with BG 65 @ 23lbs. What happened to my lovely AT? Lost 50% control and 25% power! Admittedly, it was not my best night of doubles and will get a second opinion on Thurs. I have BG 80 coming... any thoughts out there on BG 80 and tensions? I've moved up three levels and am verging on advanced - play 75% technique but rely on power quite often.
