Hi, I'm looking for a new racket and I've been a fan of Babolat ever since i played with my Satelite Nitro... I mean that is the racket for me But i've been looking at those new models that are coming out and i've been wondering which of the four (Essential, Power, Blast, Lite) comes closest to the feel of the Satelite Nitro? What I love about the Nitro is the balance, the lightness, the speed at which you can alter your racket which makes it very nice for defence but i also love the power it can produce. For the moment i'm thinking Blast but that's just a feeling... Thx guys for any advice, reccomendations your are willing to provide me with
I know there's a new paintjob for it... but i'm like a three year old when it comes to certain things: "me wants" I do like to change my racket every once and a while... Therefor I would like to know which of the four leans the most towards the feeling of the Satelite Nitro. But if it's too much hassle to get one of the X Feel series (I have to order it via my dealer or through a website) then I'll buy myself the new Nitro.
I was told the 09 Nitro had different frame design, but I have not taken a closer look at it.. /Twobeer
The new Nitro 09' has nothing new. Just a new paint job, nothing more. But that's because it doesn't need any new stuff. It's an awesome racquet! As for comparison with the X-Feel series... You have to bare in mind that the X-Feel racquets are all extra long. Whilst the Nitro is ever so slightly shorter. The X-Feel Blast, would be the best match, but it's slightly heavier than the Nitro. Just check the Babolat homepage, it's got all the info you need. It recently got updated!
I never cease to be amazed at the resourcefulness of my fellow Singaporean brothers, any brand you name, they will have it !!! I did see the X Feel series in HK before, but didn't buy it.
I have essential, power and blast. I think power come closest to your satellite nitro because its only stiff not like blast (xtra stiff). but for defense and power i recommend you essential. sorry for my bad english.
Hey Mick2575, what would you compare them to Yonex? I am planning to get a Power or Essential as i am looking for a racquet with more power. Which one would you recommend for power? Isn't the Essential more head heavy than power?
Hey Mick2575 thx for that suggestion. My mind was really set on the Blast but in my game, defense is just as if not even more important than offense. I'm now definitely considering the Essential.
Oh no! My secret's out! Yes I have 2 pieces of X-Feel Blast. Made a few little customisation/modifications with lead tape. Now they feel perfect. But I'll keep the mods & specs secret for now... Zelm's Powerplay 9990 is still the best for me in terms of touch and feel. X-Feel Blast is very stiff and great for attacking play.
I can't recommend you if I don't know how strong your hand, if you very strong more stiff the shaft better for you because you can get good accuracy, but if you don't have enough power, more flexible the staff its can generate more power for you. I copy this from another source : The stiffness of the racket relates to how much flex there is. A stiff racquet will not have much flexibity and so it is unforgiving for a beginner. A flexible racket will obviously have more flex and this will give a beginner a bit more power, as you will have a kind of sling shot effect, but at the expense of control. You should only buy a stiff racket when your technique is good enough to cope with it, otherwise you will be risking shoulder problems, as the vibration from hitting the shuttle will travel down your arm and into your shoulder joints. And yes essential more head heavy than power, but just a little. For defense i prefer essential cause the flex and lightness. to compare with yonex, i think babolat have greater sweet spot and its feel more solid (I have armortec LE SB, ti-10 and carb 20)
wow, babolat are available at indonesia, anyone can buy the "blast" for me, and mail it to Malaysia?? hehe
