Try the BG65 Power. It has the same sound property although slightly thicker in the pitch due to the thicker diameter. It may also not have as much repulsion as the thinner BG80 but because of that it feels easier IMHO for controlling the shuttle return on trick shots and net shots and is better for shot placement during smashing. Lastly it also has more durability and lasts a lot longer while remaining tension (unlike BG65).
In conclusion, the BG80 is not the best. |

Control-wise I prefer the sharp feeling on impact thus I would say BG65 Power. On another hand BG80 is a lot sharper but doesn't feel that stiff and thus IMHO doesn't give the feel of having a momentary hold (for control of shuttle placement) of the shuttle like the thicker strings. |

There is no best string for a racket... there is only the best string for the player. The racket does not care what string you use....
What do you play? Singles? Doubles? Power? Control? |

A lot of bros here, very keen and also using BG 66, but the problem i use with this string is , i do a lot of smashes and pushing of shutter often , within 3 months the string started to lose tension and breaks easily.

3 months is quite a long time for strings to last, with frequent use!

1 week ago, i restrung my Ti10 (3rd gen) with NBG98 26lbs and AT900P with BG66 Sharp 26lbs. For my Ti10 (3rd gen), i feel NBG98 (26lbs) > BG66 (26lbs), NBG98 provides better power, control and durability (i suppose). For my AT900P, i feel BG80 (28lbs) > BG66S (26lbs), i feel BG80 provides better power and louder sound when i hit hard, but BG66S does provide slightly better control at front court, i am not sure it is due to the lbs difference or the string performance. However, this is only my personal feel to the strings combined with the racket and lbs. ![]() ![]() Note: NBG98 and BG66 both are 0.66 diameter string; whereas BG80 and BG66S both are 0.68 diameter string. I purposely strung larger diameter string with my AT900P to protect the racket coz it is 2nd hand racket strung with high lbs before. For your extra info, the price of the strings in JB Honly: BG66 (RM25) BG80 (RM30) NBG98 (RM45) BG66S (RM45) Last edited by PapA_xlonG : 11-07-2009 at 02:59 AM. |
