Nice shoes. How do you compare them with YY shoes?

i am not really understand what do you mean by Yonex low life expectations.
tennis shoe design is different from badminton shoe. tennis shoe is stiffer and flatter for better ankle support. whereas badminton shoe is less stiff at front sole to enable fluid movement.

Agree with what drifit says, badminton shoes need to be light, and enable fluid movement, tennis shoes are not good for badminton, the durability won't be any better with those Nike ones, if anything they will be worse.

    Just got my SHB101MX :D

I was using some SOTX shoes before, but the insole was terrible and there are holes in it now at the ball and heel...

after just under 8 months with the SHB101mx, they will gradually be retired over the next month, the final day looks like it will be 19th of September. I have already bought a pair of SHB91MX to replace them, and will be using them lightly until the 101s are fully retired (will use the SHB91 for maybe 2hrs a week whereas use the 101mx for the other time) until the 101 become officially retired.
    Pictures to come soon.:)

new SHB101 MX and LX for me and my wife! just arrived from directsports UK... since we started playing, we're using adidas, then finally we've decided for yonex brand for a change, at least we will have an experience of a shoe that is designed for its purpose - BADMINTON

 Good for you! Usually I will frown upon people playing on running shoes :D. Especially if they leave marks on the floor ;)

I did see someone at the recent world championships change to running shoes mid-game though for the first time ever (Ville Lang of Finland; I think one of his feet was hurt).

What do you mean ?

Yes it was Ville Lang, R1 against Chen Jin ( the new World Champion :sigh:) what happened was that during the second game, one of Ville Lang's shoes burst, he didn't have a spare set, and isn't allowed to leave the court, so he wore his running shoes instead.:) actually the conversation between Ville and the Umpire was funny:
This is actually what he said.
Umpire: You don't have a spare pair ?
    Ville: No
Umpire: Do you have any tape ?
    Ville: No
Umpire: Can you just play in your socks ?
Ville: Against him ? No way ! :nervous laugh:

Hahaha... nway, IMO - the advantage of running/voleyball or other indoor shoes with general purpose which are not specific for badminton are durability. they are very durable, they will last you in average of 2-3years even if you play 3-5days a week, 3-5hours a day. But i guess my opinion is bias, because I never had an experienced of using a badminton specific shoes before, this is the first time. I hope these SHB101's are worth the gold! and this is for me to find out...
