A monkey is quick, agile and nimble.:) Their powerful gorilla cousins are brutally powerful.:D You suggesting players should downsize to match stick/toothpick proportions?;)

i think he is greatest badminton player ever.
he won all title that he participate ( olympic, 4 times world champion, asian games, thomas and sudirman cup, 4 times all england, and other superseries tournament ) except indonesia open ( taufik won 6 times, LCW 3 straight times) and superseries final.
Taufik is same as LD won all major tournament except all england.
LCW only silver medalist at olmpic, asian games and WC.

LD is once again playing by the pattern he has established since the past year or so.
He takes most matches to 3 games if he can. He tends to coast along in the second game while pushing the opponent to work harder for the win, before he wraps things up in the third.
The same pattern is what was seen at the Japan Open against LHI in round 1, with LD winning 21-16, 11-21, 21-12
The idea is to not play at over 75% efficiency if possible. "Keep your powder dry."

I think he is trying out if he can last 3 games. Not grinding his opponents.

2011 Japan Open (Quarter-Finals): The Lin Dan-vs-Chen Jin match

    .
Let's not talk about the past, but talk about today's (Friday 23-Sep-2011) match at the Japan Open (Quarter-Finals).

Lin Dan will be facing Chen Jin in about 2 hours' time.

Let's see if Lin Dan will lose to Chen Jin or not. ;););)

2011 Japan Open SS Semi-Finals: I hope it would be a LCW-vs-LD match to eventuate

    .
I think LD will let CL to face LCW; although I hope it would be a LCW-vs-LD match to eventuate.

There is no match between LD & CL today... LD just walk out & let CL walk to the Final freely to face either PG or LCW, but most probably LCW...

Can anyone shed some light, why LD did not play today?
I had been longing to watch LD VS LCW again, a repeater of 2011 WC Final, a tremendous match indeed.

LD has let LCW even suspicious & eager to face LD. Maybe we can watch the match between these two super badminton Players only on this upcoming OG...
I am a little bit pessimistic that these two might encounter each other before OG.

Yes, but is really hard for them to avoid eachother all the time :)

LCW WO:ed last week because he didnt want to face LD in China and now LD WOs..Probably because not perfect form and LYB wants to groom Chen Long for the future when they do not have LD.

He registered to the tournament was first seeded and withdrew before the start.

We could of course argue if it is better to not show up at all or to play 3-4 matches and withdraw citing questionable injuries. In my book neither is really good for us fans..

Lee Chong Wei called Li Yongbo to say that he wasn't playing due to an injury to his shoulder (I suspect it has already healed that time but he didn't feel like playing in China nor want to risk playing so quickly with his injury just being healed)

Lin Dan walkover just proves that CL would be the second man for the OG, no doubt.

I too am eager to watch Badminton match between these two so called badminton giants in Men Single category, before 2012 OG of course. The match between them is very exciting & intense, elevating badminton match to another level...

Your comments about CL makes sense... Grooming CL is indeed very crucial for the China domination in Badminton world far more crucial when they do not have LD to become the assassin.

Don't worry. they probably meet in this year's SS Final or next year's AE before Olympic 2012.

CJ will be gone and by then CL will rule the sky. Unless one from MAS, KOR, DEN or INA raise up to the challenge

For chen long, winning the Japan open is probably his best performance this yearbut this is just the beginning. His main task will be how he performs in his next tournament :DThe smartest one is Lin Dan, just maintain low profile even to the extend of giving match over to team matesor even fake an injury and spring a surprise comes Olympic 2012:D
