We all know by now Madame pjswift is "Miss. How-can-we-ever-take-your-words-seriously" when it comes to these discussions.

    Or else..

Yes, LCW (for example) gets fed lousy, un-nutritious and life-sapping food everyday under the management and insistence of the Malaysian coaches and [probably dumb] doctors and food specialists, which is also why LCW is so thin and fragile (where WZM even made cheeky remarks about) while coach TSB himself is jolly and chubby. Such unfairness :p

I have not yet made reference to the lousy run down training centres that are just about to fall apart where the Malaysian badminton athletes train in fear of the roof collapsing on them, which pjswift has said exists in Malaysia where LCW trains, compared to the palace where LD trains with all the best support system in the world.

If this is the case, LD and CL should not know how to play orher players and must ALWAYS lost to other players before meeting LCW... Just like how CW so often lost to other players like SD, TH, etc in WCs of the last many years before he was supposed to meet LD....

    What an amazing logic!!!

Enough of the joke, he will of course concentrate so much for fulfilling his dream & Malaysia dream, MS Gold Medal at OG 2012.

Cobalt, let me say I have a lot of respect for your excellent, well thought out posts. However, there is no right or wrong opinion, more likely different or similar or outrageous or no opinions. You asked why LCW cannot have better support or coach? Well, if you were a world class coach with many options, and BAM is willing to pay you what you want, would you take it up knowing you would be reporting to a committee or NCC?

Badminton is stuck with National Associations

    .
Plans need to be changed if they are not producing results. LCW, being with BAM, is stuck with BAM's methods (I guess).

As I am also following various sports, I can see many of our Australian sports persons leaving Australia to go overseas to train. Yes, these are our our real 'independent' professional sports people.

LCW is not an 'independent' Badminton player. He is part of BAM's system, and therefore is required to follow BAM's way of doing things.

Somehow I find Badminton is stuck with National Associations. If I were LCW, I would become an 'independent' player, and hire my own coach.

With the upcoming SS Final, there are a few interesting imaginary strategies that LCW could do. Throwing out ethics and assuming that the seeding plays out during round robin stage.

What do you guys think would be the best strategy for LCW to maximize his chances of winning?

    1) LCW wins his group and then plays CL in the semi and then LD in the Final?
    2) LCW loses his group and then plays LD in the semi and then CL in the Final?

I just put these 2 scenerios becasue I think these are the most likely outcomes coming out of the round robin stage? I also have either PG grabbing the 4th spot, but Simon has been playing good too.

    .
The LD-vs-CL match is played first (before LCW's match); Therefore LCW can decide after seeing the result of the CHN's match.

The mark of a great champion is non-kiasuness, respect for the sport, and respect for the spectators paying money to watch them play.

another lost to CL... :( why lee chong wei tends to make simple error recently? i found out after the world champ., he had made too many simple errors on court and his smashes is not deadly as b4... does his opponent read and studied his game very well? besides, CL is getting fitter, sharper on court... is he receiving special training as lin dan did? does LCW need misbun back?

anyway, u can do it LCW!!! don't u ever give up :)

Chooi Kah Ming was injured and had to go thru knee surgery after a session at one of these training centres. Juara Stadium was being used for tournaments and the players were moving from one centre to another, that's BAM . Food - it was reported bf that the food at the cafeteria was not up to mark due to those in charge of contracting out to the caterer. Sports Minister said NSC will take back the responsibility to ensure players get healthy food, not sure if they did it
.Flights - BAM chose the cheapest route instead of direct flight to cut costs. The flight there take very long to arrive, at times the pysio and support staff reach 1st, players have not reach. Pysio, etc are under NSC. Once again, points to BAM management. All this has been reportrd in the Msian press, more than once.

Not to mention we pay astro to watch and buy admission tickets. With LCW's defeat do you think my MO2012 ticket is worth it?

Broke my heart to see LCW lost BWF SF. What was with all the unforced errors?

Wonder whats the excuse this time from TSB and BAM, even LCW?
